Just a stone's throw from the historic center of one of Burgundy's most beautiful gems! Spacious, comfortable Holiday cottage in a quiet, contemporary residence (with balcony-terrace & large garage) nestled on the riverbank in a pleasant, bucolic setting. Residential area adjacent to the center of the illustrious medieval abbey town of Cluny, one of Burgundy's most remarkable heritage gems (all amenities & leisure facilities on site, directly accessible on foot). Location ultra-privileged on the Romanesque churches circuit, the wine route, the GR 76 (Saint-Jacques de Compostelle), numerous signposted "balades vertes" hiking trails & referenced mountain bike circuits including the Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne (GTM), 1.5 km from the voie verte (directly connected to several referenced "boucle vélo coup de cœur" cycling itineraries, the first of which is only 7 km away). Right in the heart of the Tournugeois-Clunisois region (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), a splendid area with a literally exceptional heritage (notably medieval and Romanesque), as well as bucolic, hilly countryside, much of it protected and classified as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its remarkable ecosystem, a succession of verdant bocages, wooded hills, vineyard slopes and deep, wild forests, bordering the magnificent vineyards of the Mâconnais (including the famous Val Lamartinien nearby / first vines 7 km away) & Beaujolais, at the crossroads of the Charolais-Brionnais (an area with the "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" label). Ideal location for easy access (not far from RCEA and A6 & A40): 24 km from the sumptuous Roche de Solutré landscape jewel, classified as a "Grand Site de France", 26 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 24 km away), 35 km from Tournus, 36 km from the famous Touroparc Zoo animal park, 36 km from Charolles, 41 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 49 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (classified as a "City of Art and History") & 50 km from Paray-le-Monial. The perfect address for a comfortable stay at an affordable price!

SteveB A good base in a lovely town
We stayed for 11 nights in June and were very comfortable in this unpretentious ground floor apartment next to the River Grosne. Although we had some difficulty communicating with the owner before we arrived, once we had arrived he was extremely helpful. We would recommend it highly, although the single shower-room and toilet might have proved inadequate if there had been more of us staying.
