Delightful authentic 18th-century traditional character property steeped in history - revisited as a gentle holiday home with a very pleasant sheltered panoramic balcony-terrace - nestled in the calm of a picturesque little village steeped in charm perched on an exposed hillside. Peace & quiet in the heart of the unspoilt Cluny Countryside, in the midst of a magnificent hilly setting combining bucolic meadows, vineyards & beautiful wild forests, overlooking the verdant Grosne valley opposite the Monts du Mâconnais, home to the sumptuous landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson, classified as a "Grand Site de France" (22 km away), in the heart of a vast natural area protected as a "Zone Natura 2000" & ZNIEFF (for its very rich ecosystems), bordering the wooded foothills of the South Burgundy massif, the North Beaujolais massif (vast signposted mountain biking area to discover), the "Verts Vallons" of South Burgundy & the "Petite Suisse du Mâconnais" (splendid territory of the Haut Clunisois). An ultra-privileged Location just a stone's throw from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais (including the famous "Val Lamartinien", named after the illustrious host of the site) and the "Burgundy Wine Route", not far from the Beaujolais vineyards (first vineyard in the world to be recognized as a UNESCO World Geopark), ideally situated on the Romanesque churches circuit, the GR76 connected to the famous GR "Chemin de Cluny" (ViaCluny) and the mythical "Chemin des Moines" (linking the abbeys of Cîteaux and Cluny), several signposted "balades vertes" trails (a vast network of similar footpaths and mountain bike trails in the area), 3.5 km from the Voie Verte of the "Grande boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" (& its remarkable "Tunnel du Bois Clair" accessible at 7 km, the longest former railway tunnel in France open to a Voie Verte at 1.6 km), linked to the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de la Saône-et-Loire by bike), 3.5 km of the renowned GTM mountain bike circuit with FFC mountain bike certification (Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne connected to a vast network of identical signposted routes criss-crossing the massif "en étoiles") & 25 km of the Voie Bleue (running alongside the Saône). At the crossroads of Mâconnais, Beaujolais, Clunisois-Tournugeois (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") & Charolais-Brionnais (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"). Perfect location for easy access (RCEA connection only 5 km away): 14 km from Taizé (& its famous religious community), 24 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV train station 23 km away), 27 km from Saint-Gengoux-le-National, classified as a "Cités de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté", 28 km from the medieval village of Brancion, 36 km from Charolles, 37 km from "Hameau Dubœuf" (Europe's 1st vineyard & wine theme park), 38 km from Tournus (internationally renowned abbey site), 39 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais) & 44 km from Vonnas (Georges Blanc's gourmet village).
