Authentic, fully-restored 17th-century country house (one of the oldest dated houses in the area) set in a cul-de-sac on an exposed hillside at the edge of a forest, on a panoramic promontory overlooking a pretty valley, next to the 19th-century Château d'Aine and its renowned 17-hectare listed park (with a rich arboretum). Nestled in the foothills of the southern Burgundy Massif, in the heart of the vast vineyards of the famous AOC Mâcon, this picturesque, peaceful hamlet is typical of the Haut-Mâconnais region. Magnificent rolling country setting between plains and wooded hills, alternating vineyard slopes, forests and meadows. 1.5 km from the charming wine-growing and shopping town of Azé, a charming, unspoilt village with a rich historical heritage (Romanesque church, 19th-century covered market, castles, wash-houses, towers, mills, beautiful historic houses...), many bucolic hiking trails, home to the famous eponymous Grottes (listed prehistoric site with museum renowned for its exceptional remains of cave bear bones). Comfortable gîte. Warm country charm combined with meticulous heritage restoration (original beams and framework, stone & wood window lintels, sink stones, stoup...).
