Delightful, fully renovated traditional Bresse farmhouse dating from the late 19th century, located 1.5 km from the charming, typical market town of Saint-Germain-du-Bois (with numerous amenities, including a supermarket and a remarkable range of sports and leisure facilities, including a swimming pool) & 17 km from Louhans, the famous capital of the Bresse region, famous for its iconic medieval shopping street with its "157 arcades" (one of the most remarkable of its kind in France and Europe) and for its famous "Monday market", which has been awarded the "Site remarquable du goût" label. A residential hamlet nestled in the heart of the Bresse countryside, in a peaceful, unspoilt setting with a particularly varied landscape, combining agriculture & nature (with several natural sites protected as "Natura 2000 zones" for their remarkable ecosystems), between vast plains of hedged meadows dotted with ponds, forests, rivers & the mountainous foothills of the nearby Jura massif. A choice location on the route of two "balades vertes" hiking trails (a vast network of hiking trails of the same type to be discovered throughout the region), not far from the Romanesque church circuit, 1.5 km from a referenced 35 km "Coup de Cœur bicycle loop" connected to the "Voie Bressane" (greenway accessible at 17 km), 17 km from the "Bresse Jurassienne" greenway, 19 km from the "Bresse Comtoise" GRP, some 20 km from the first Jura vineyards, about 40 km from the vineyards of southern Burgundy (Côtes Mâconnaises & Côtes Chalonnaises) & about 50 km from the prestigious world-renowned vineyards of Côtes de Beaune & Hautes Côtes de Beaune (numerous wine routes to explore, including the illustrious "Route des Grands Crus"). In the heart of Bresse Bourguignonne - birthplace of the famous AOC Bresse poultry - at the crossroads of the Ain & Jura departments, at the crossroads of the Chalonnais, Bresse du Jura, Mâconnais, Tournugeois-Clunisois (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") and Bresse de l'Ain. Ideally located to cover several départements: 28 km from Verdun-sur-Doubs (river marina at the confluence of the Doubs and Saône rivers), 29 km from the Bresse motor racing circuit (48 ha of multi-activity car, motorcycle and karting facilities), 30 km from Lons-le-Saunier, 33 km from Seurre, 35 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (classified as a "Ville d'Art & d'Histoire"), 37 km from Cuisery, one of France's 8 exclusive "Villages du Livre", 37 km from the medieval town of Romenay, 40 km from Tournus, 49 km from Beaune & 50 km from Dole (classified as a "Ville d'Art & d'Histoire"). A perfect little "nest" of charm, just a stone's throw from amenities and the surrounding countryside!

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.
Léa & Maxime welcome you to a delightful, carefully restored traditional late 19th-century Bresse farmhouse, nestled on the edge of a literal "postcard vacation route", a totally exotic, historic "alley" lined with 400 plane trees (listed heritage). A residential hamlet nestled on the edge of a wood, just a stone's throw from the gentle surrounding countryside, close to the heart of the village. With numerous amenities (including a supermarket), a remarkable level of leisure facilities (year-round indoor swimming pool complemented by an outdoor pool, fun "multi-activity area" with city-stadium, skate park, children's playground...) and two fishing ponds (carpodrome in "no-kill" / other with "sporting course"), the typical village of Saint-Germain-du-Bois also benefits from a bucolic preserved setting, dotted with numerous ponds & rivers, combining fields of crops, verdant bocage meadows & wild forests (to be explored during soothing walks or bike rides). A very comfortable gîte with atypical interior architecture. Warm country style with contemporary accents, "twisted" with a few tasty "sixties" touches. Lots of charm. Cosy & cozy. Large, shady terrace. Possibility of visiting the owners' on-site "micro-farm" (home to goats, sheep, chickens, geese, ducks, etc.), for the pleasure & rare privilege of fresh eggs and "homemade" honey as a bonus!
Composition : Single-storey gîte adjoining the owners' home (total independence). Wifi access. Electric heating. Air-conditioning. Ground floor (with mini-interior half-level of 2 steps to access 1 bedroom): living room/kitchen, TV lounge, 2 bedrooms (bed 2 p.140x190cm / 2 beds 1 p. 90x190cm) including 1 giving onto the lounge as a "second day" (without direct opening onto the outside), shower room (shower/Wc). Terrace + bicycle room + private parking. Small courtyard. Shops and supermarket 1.5 km away.

On trouve toutes commodités à proximité. En plus de visiter la Saône et Loire, vous êtes frontalier avec le Jura où il y a de beaux sites à voir.
En ce qui nous concerne, nous reviendrons.
Nous recommandons chaleureusement ce gîte.- Cleanliness
