A delightful "paysanne" address with old-world charm! Comfortable bed and breakfast in an authentic, fully-restored 18th-century farmhouse, nestled on a 1-hectare property designed in the spirit of a "micro-farm", on the edge of meadows on the outskirts of a peaceful & picturesque little village, 11 km (equidistant) from Charolles, the "Venise Charolaise" ("Site Clunisien", famous medieval city of Charles the Bold) and La Clayette, coiled amphitheatrically on the banks of a 30-hectare pond bordered by a majestic medieval château dating from 1380, a veritable jewel in the crown of South Burgundy's heritage (both towns boasting a wide range of amenities, including supermarkets and a wealth of sports and leisure facilities). Absolute tranquility in the unspoilt Brionnais Countryside, a magnificent hilly setting combining agriculture & nature (in an area protected as a ZNIEFF for its rich ecosystems), in the heart of the sublime Charolais bocage dotted with beautiful forests, rivers & ponds, not far from Saint-Cyr Mountain (South Burgundy's highest point at 771m), nestled between the verdant Arconce valley & the first wooded foothills of the Beaujolais massif. Privileged location on the route of the Romanesque churches & several marked "balades vertes" footpaths (a rich network of identical hiking trails criss-crossing the region, to be explored on foot or mountain bike), 6 km from the "Cycloroute71" (bicycle tour of Saône-et-Loire), 11 km from a marked mountain bike route with "VTT-FFC" certification (linked to a vast network of similar routes criss-crossing the region), 14 km from the GR7, 19 km of the Voie Verte du Canal du Centre (linked to the EuroVélo6 cycle route and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo"), 22 km of the Voie Verte "Véloire" (following the Loire, the last "wild river in Europe" protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone") and some 40 km from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais & Beaujolais, the first vineyard in the world to be recognized as a "UNESCO World Geopark" ("Route des Vins de Bourgogne" & various Beaujolais wine routes to explore). At the crossroads of Charolais-Brionnais ("Pays d'Art & d'Histoire" label, land of livestock farming & traditions, cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed), Mâconnais, Beaujolais & Tournugeois-Clunisois ("Pays d'Art & d'Histoire" label). Ideal for exploring: 19 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France!), 21 km from Marcigny ("Site Clunisien" famous for its Monday morning Market created in 1266), 22 km from Paray-le-Monial, 27 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais awarded the rare "Plus beaux villages de France" label, 31 km from Charlieu, 35 km from Digoin (river Marina connected to the Canal du Centre & "quiet canal" linking Digoin to Roanne), 42 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of the Beaujolais region), 46 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny & 50 km from the sumptuous landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labelled "Grand Site de France". A perfect "pied-à-terre" for a comfortable & relaxing "timeless break"!
