At the gateway to the Parc Naturel du Morvan, in the heart of the Couchois vineyards & its gentle rolling countryside (an area protected by various "Natura 2000" & ZNIEFF zones for its rich ecosystems), a bucolic setting combining vineyard slopes, bocage meadows & beautiful wild forests, bordering the sumptuous Vaux valley ("la petite Suisse chalonnaise") & the famous "Val d'Or" of Mercurey (leader of the Côte Chalonnaise crus, one of France's oldest AOCs), at the crossroads of the world-renowned vineyards of the Côtes Chalonnaises, Côtes de Beaune & Hautes Côtes de Beaune, in the immediate vicinity of Mont Rome, the territory's highest point at 546m (major climbing site & belvedere renowned for its exceptional view stretching from the Saône to the Autunois). Ultra-privileged location on the Romanesque churches circuit, the "Route des Grands Vins" (extended by the illustrious "Route des Grands Crus" through the legendary wine villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Meursault...), various signposted footpaths including "balades vertes" (a vast network of hiking trails of the same type criss-crossing the region, to be explored on foot or mountain bike) & the superb GRP "Au Fil des Vignobles et Vallées" (connected to the GR7, GR76 & GR137), 6 km from the Voie Verte du Canal du Centre (a navigable route to be explored by boat or on foot) linked to the EuroVélo6 cycle route and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo", 11 km from the Voie Verte "du Morvan aux Vignobles" linked to the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), 11 km from "La Voie des Vignes" (a 36-km route through the vineyards of the world's finest Burgundy Grands Crus), 18 km from the "Voie des Étangs" cycle route & 21 km from the renowned GTM (Grande Traversée du Massif Sud Bourgogne) mountain bike route. Prime location in the heart of the Chalonnais region, on the border between Côte d'Or & Pays Beaunois, at the crossroads of Autunois and Morvan. Ideal for commuting: 6 km from Saint-Léger-sur-Dheune (river Marina), 13 km from the spa town of Santenay, 13 km from the medieval town of Nolay (on-site Lake), 17 km from Chagny (renowned for its Sunday morning gourmet Market), 17 km from Le Creusot (renowned Les Combes amusement park / Le Creusot TGV station 20 km away), 24 km from the wine-growing & medieval village of Givry, 26 km from Autun (labeled "City d'Art et d'Histoire"), 30 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "City d'Art et d'Histoire"), 30 km from Beaune, 33 km from the departure station of the "Vélorail du Morvan" (22 km of Unusual rides in the heart of nature) & 49 km from the famous Gallo-Roman archeological site of Bibracte labeled "Grand Site de France". Florian welcomes you to an exotic resort set in an elegant, characterful 19th-century bourgeois residence, fully restored and steeped in history (former village "perception"), nestled in the heart of a picturesque "postcard" village. Couches is a picturesque medieval and wine-producing village steeped in charm, located on the ancient Agrippa Roman road, and boasting an exceptional heritage (including the sumptuous 13th-century château of Queen Marguerite de Bourgogne, just a stone's throw away), numerous amenities and a magnificent rolling countryside setting, nestled in the heart of unspoilt Vineyard Countryside, in a bucolic valley combining vineyard slopes, bocage meadows & beautiful wild forests, in an area protected as a ZNIEFF (for its wealth of flora & fauna). Comfortable Holiday cottage. Spacious, bright living room. Warm, cosy, contemporary country feel. Soft, zen-like atmosphere. Intimate, vast, shaded terrace (under a canvas) on the "inner courtyard" side, at the rear of the house, overlooked by a pleasant panoramic "hanging" garden, with grass and flowers, next to the majestic "Tour Guerin" (16th-century seigniorial residence, the iconic historic building of the area).
