Elegant 1920 building full of character and history, completely renovated into a very comfortable holiday home, nestled in the heart of the picturesque, charming & perfectly preserved village of Anzy-le-Duc (famous for its sumptuous 11th-century listed Romanesque church) & 6.5 km from the charming medieval & shopping town of Marcigny, a "Cluniac site" famous for its Monday morning Market created in 1266 (many amenities on site, including supermarkets). Magnificent surrounding countryside combining agriculture and nature, nestled in the unspoilt Brionnais Countryside, in the heart of the bucolic rolling local bocage, in the lush green Arconce valley, very close to the banks of the Loire (Europe's last wild river, protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its rich ecosystems) and the "quiet canal" linking Roanne to Digoin. An ultra-privileged Location on the route of the Romanesque church circuit, a hiking trail marked out as a "balade verte" (a vast network of hiking trails of the same type that can be explored on foot or by mountain bike), a mountain bike route marked out as a "VTT-FFC" (linked to a vast network of similar routes criss-crossing the region) & the route of the "Cycloroute71" (tour of Saône-et-Loire by bike), 3 km from the Voie Verte "Véloire" (along the banks of the Loire), 20 km from the Voie Verte du Canal du Centre (connected to EuroVélo6 and the "Tour de Bourgogne à vélo"), 30 km from the first vineyards of the Côtes Roannaises, about 50 km from the Beaujolais vineyards (the world's first UNESCO Geopark) & about 60 km from the Côtes Maconnaises ("Route des Vins de Bourgogne" & various Beaujolais Wine Routes to explore). In the heart of the sublime Charolais-Brionnais region (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), an ultra-renowned land of livestock farming & traditions, cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed, rich in sumptuous landscapes and an exceptional historical heritage, at the crossroads of the Sologne & Bourbonnaise Mountains and the Pays Roannais, not far from the Mâconnais-Clunisois and Beaujolais regions. We're ideally located to cover several départements (at the crossroads of the Allier, Loire & Rhône): 10 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, awarded the rare "Plus beaux villages de France" label, 12 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France, literally a show dedicated to the local Charolais star!), 20 km from Paray-le-Monial, 21 km from Digoin (river marina linked to the famous Canal du Centre), 23 km from Charolles, 24 km from La Clayette, 28 km from Charlieu (exceptional Romanesque Benedictine abbey), 36 km from Roanne & 49 km from the famous PAL theme park. An inspiring "refuge" breathing art de vivre & serenity!

Geneviève & Christian open the doors to an elegant 1920s Burgundian building full of character and history (formerly a "girls' school"), nestled in a quiet lane lined with historic dry-stone walls, in the very heart of the picturesque village of Anzy-le-Duc, famous for its sumptuous 11th-century listed Romanesque church (one of the most beautiful in Burgundy, just a stone's throw from the Holiday cottage) & its magnificent 12th-century Prieuré. Total tranquility, in the heart of the gentle, unspoilt Brionnais Countryside, nestled in a bucolic, undulating bocage not far from a vast national forest and the banks of the Loire, a natural site protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for the quality of its rich ecosystems (migration, reproduction & nesting axis for numerous species, some of them very rare / fish, amphibians, mammals, birds...). Spacious, comfortable Holiday cottage. Beautiful volumes. Cosy & refined "bourgeois" country style, combining vintage spirit with contemporary touches. Pleasant, colorful "pop" atmosphere, in harmony with the exotic soul of the place (stone lintels & original parquet floors). Lots of charm. Cosy & cozy. Vast, intimate, flower-filled enclosed courtyard with majestic lime tree (appreciable natural shade on terrace side in summer). Barn with direct access to table tennis and table soccer.
Composition: Detached house adjoining owners' house (total independence). Wifi access. Electric heating + wood stove. Single-storey Holiday cottage (ground floor): kitchen, living room (sofa bed 2 p. 140x190cm as extra bed), 2 bedrooms (bed 2 p. 160x200cm / 2 beds 1 p. 90x190cm) with private bathrooms (bath/Wc), separate toilet. Enclosed courtyard + courtyard terrace (gravel) + bike room + private parking. Table soccer and table tennis in barn adjoining Holiday cottage. Shops & supermarkets 6.5 km.
