Stay in one of the very few villages to be awarded the "Most Beautiful Villages in France" label, in the footsteps of the founder of Cluny Abbey! This delightful authentic 19th-century winegrower's house has been carefully restored to the highest standards, and boasts a pleasant 1800m² walled garden. It nestles in a peaceful setting in the heart of the sublime Brionnais bocage, on a hillside "balcony", 2.5 km from the picturesque medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, steeped in history, and 3 km from the charming medieval market town of Marcigny, a "Cluniac site" famous for its Monday morning market, founded in 1266 (all amenities on site, including supermarkets). Total peace & quiet in a small rural hamlet, nestled on the edge of meadows under the wooded ridges of a beautiful Forest, in the heart of the unspoilt Brionnais Countryside (protected by ZNIEFF & "Natura 2000" for its wealth of flora & fauna), in the heart of a magnificent hilly landscape combining agriculture and preserved nature, not far from the banks of the Loire ("Europe's last wild river", also classified as a "Natura 2000 zone" for its exceptional biotope). Ultra-privileged Location on the route of the Romanesque church circuit, various "natural" footpaths and signposted "balades vertes" (a rich network of identical hiking and mountain-biking trails in the surrounding area), several "VTT-FFC" approved mountain-biking itineraries (connected to a vast network of similar routes criss-crossing the region) and the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône et Loire by bike), 3.5 km from the Voie Verte "Véloire" along the Loire (like the "Canal Tranquille" linking Roanne to Digoin), 25 km from the Voie Verte du Canal du Centre linked to the EuroVélo6 cycle route and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélos", around 30 km from the first vineyards of the Côtes Roannaises, around 50 km from the vineyards of northern Beaujolais and around 70 km from the Côtes Mâconnaises (various Beaujolais wine routes connected to the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne"). A prime location at the very southern tip of Burgundy, in the heart of the sublime Charolais-Brionnais region (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), a land of livestock breeding and tradition (cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breeds), rich in sumptuous landscapes and an exceptional historical heritage, at the crossroads of the Sologne & Bourbonnaise Mountains and the Roannais region, not far from the Mâconnais-Clunisois and Beaujolais regions. Ideal for covering several départements (at the crossroads of the Allier, Loire & Rhône): 7 km from Anzy-le-Duc (home to one of Burgundy's most beautiful Romanesque churches), 10 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France, literally a show dedicated to the local Charolais star!), 20 km from Charlieu (exceptional Romanesque Benedictine abbey), 22 km from La Clayette, 27 km from Paray-le-Monial, 28 km from Digoin (river Marina nestled at the convergence of 3 renowned canals, including the famous Canal du Centre), 31 km from La Clayette, 30 km from Charolles, 34 km from Roanne, 51 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais) & 54 km from the famous PAL theme park. The perfect "pied à terre" for a breath of fresh air with family and friends! A real mini-paradise for Kids!

Joëlle & Michel (former "elite" racing cyclists, road bike and mountain bike enthusiasts) welcome you to a delightful authentic 19th-century winegrower's house, carefully restored to the highest standards, nestled "en balcon" on a hillside, on the edge of gentle pastures beneath the wooded crests of a beautiful Forest, in the heart of the sublime Brionnais bocage, with the famous Charolais cows as its privileged neighbors. Total peace and quiet nestled in a "dispersed" rural hamlet perched on a well-exposed south-western plateau overlooking a bucolic valley where a small river flows, in the heart of the unspoilt Brionnais Countryside (protected under ZNIEFF & "Natura 2000" for its wealth of flora & fauna), in the heart of a magnificent hilly landscape combining agriculture & nature. Ultra-relaxing environment close to the picturesque medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, historic capital of the Brionnais region, a "Cluniac site" steeped in history and awarded the prestigious "Plus beaux villages de France" label (birthplace of Hugues de Semur, future founder of the Abbey of Cluny), with an exceptional heritage (remains of the 10th-century medieval castle, listed 12th-century Romanesque church & chapel, imposing 19th-century priory, 18th-century City Hall, elegant historic homes...).). Spacious, comfortable Holiday cottage. Cathedral-style living room in place of the historic vat room. Vast sheltered terrace, extended by an exposed terrace, opening onto a pleasant 1800m² enclosed garden, carefully planted with grass (a perfect secure "playground" for Kids), flanked by fruit trees (cherry, peach, apple, pear, strawberry... / Picking possible during your stay) and a large gravel courtyard, literally a "natural petanque ground". Composition: Detached house (access via a 30m-long dirt track). Wifi (fiber). Wood pellet stove + Electric heating. Ground floor: living room-kitchen (sofa bed 1 p. 100x190cm), 1 bedroom (bed 2 p. 140x190cm), bathroom (shower/Wc), laundry room. 1st floor: Mezzanine bed (2 single beds 90x190cm). séjour Vieux cuvage

Gite confortable et bien situé pour visiter la région. Très bonne literie, nous avons apprécié le ventilateur lors des soirées de fortes chaleurs. Terrasse, jardin et environnement calme permettant de belles balades sans reprendre la voiture.
