In the heart of the Autunois, a sublime, unspoilt region steeped in history, legend and mystery, with a literally exceptional heritage and grandiose landscapes, at the crossroads of the Pays Beaunois and the Chalonnais, at the crossroads of the Nièvre (territory of the "Grands Lacs du Morvan") and Côte d'Or departments. Nathalie & Benoît welcome you to a charming, carefully restored 20th-century traditional barn (once linked to the neighboring "fermette", which they have also perfectly converted into a holiday cottage) nestled in the peaceful heart of a small village in the Morvan Countryside, just a stone's throw from a delightful 12th-century Romanesque church. A typical village steeped in history, the cradle of oil shale mining in the Autunois region (from the late 19th to the early 20th century), this former mining town with its world-renowned deposits (a few remnants of this period remain just a few kilometers away) nestles at the crossroads of the verdant valleys of the Arroux and Drée rivers (which are rich in fish), in a bucolic setting of rolling countryside and nature, combining agriculture & nature, between arable fields, wooded meadows, rivers & ponds and deep, wild forests (including the nearby Planoise national forest, one of the largest in France, and the famous vast Morvan forest massif). A 100% restful, unspoilt setting and surrounding area, ideal for rejuvenating walks or mountain bike rides. Very comfortable Holiday cottage. Warm country charm with contemporary accents, combining tradition and modernity in a compact, dollhouse-style architecture. Rooms nestled under the roofs in "cocoon cabin" style. Ultra-cosy & cozy atmosphere. Lots of charm. Pleasant enclosed garden with lawns, plants and flowers, and an elegant paved courtyard terrace.
Composition: Detached house adjoining another Holiday cottage owned by the owners (totally independent from each other). Wifi (fiber). Electric heating. Free laundry service. Ground floor: living room-kitchen, separate toilet. 1st floor: 2 bedrooms (each with 2 140x200cm beds), shower room. Enclosed garden (150m²) + terrace + bike room + private parking. All amenities 9 km.
