An absolutely magical and enchanting setting! A "postcard-perfect" landscape! A charming, authentic 17th-century Brionnais farmhouse steeped in history—featuring a lovely enclosed garden—carefully restored into a cozy vacation home, nestled peacefully in a picturesque rural hamlet perched on a "panoramic viewpoint" on a hillside, right in the heart of the sublime Brionnais countryside, 3.5 km from the typical village of Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais (convenience store on site), famous for its weekly “Livestock Market” dating back to the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France, a true spectacle in its own right dedicated to the local Charolais star!) and 14 km from La Clayette (many amenities on site, including supermarkets), a charming market town nestled in an amphitheater on the shores of a 30-hectare lake bordered by a majestic medieval castle (dating from 1380), a heritage gem of Southern Burgundy! Absolute tranquility, nestled in the heart of the rolling Brionnais countryside, blending agriculture with unspoiled nature, in the heart of a magnificent, preserved landscape of fields and wooded meadows (protected as a ZNIEFF for its rich fauna and flora), not far from the banks of the Loire ("Europe’s last wild river," classified as a "Natura 2000" site for its exceptional biotope) and the first wooded foothills of the Monts du Beaujolais. Ideally situated along the routes of the "Cycloroute71" (Saône-et-Loire cycling tour), the Romanesque churches circuit, "nature" hiking trails, and several nearby marked "green walks" (a rich network of similar hiking trails crisscrossing the region, perfect for exploring on foot or by mountain bike), 6 km from a marked mountain bike trail certified "VTT-FFC" (adjacent to a vast network of similar routes crisscrossing the region in a "star" pattern), 17 km from the "Véloire" Greenway (running along the Loire River and the "Canal Tranquille" connecting Roanne to Digoin / connected to the north with the Canal du Centre Greenway, which links to EuroVelo 6 as well as the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo"), about 40 km from the Côtes Roannaises and the first Vineyards of the Beaujolais (the world’s first Vineyard recognized as a “UNESCO Global Geopark”) and about 60 km from the Mâconnais Hills (“Burgundy Wine Route” and Beaujolais Wine Route to explore). A prime location at the very southern tip of Burgundy, not far from the first wooded foothills of the Monts du Beaujolais, right in the heart of the superb Charolais-Brionnais region designated a "Land of Art and History" — a land of livestock farming and traditions, the birthplace of the world-renowned AOC for the cattle breed — at the crossroads of the Allier, Loire, and Rhône departments, where the Sologne, Mountain Bourbonnaise, and Pays Roannais regions meet, not far from the Mâconnais-Clunisois and the Beaujolais regions. 9 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, which holds the rare "Most Beautiful Villages of France" designation, 16 km from Marcigny ("Cluniac site" notably known for its Monday morning market established in 1266), 16 km from the picturesque village of Anzy-le-Duc (renowned for its magnificent Romanesque church, one of the most beautiful in Burgundy), 16 km from the historic town of Charlieu, 26 km from Charolles, 26 km from Paray-le-Monial, 35 km from Digoin (a Marina nestled at the confluence of three renowned canals, including the famous Canal du Centre), 39 km from Roanne, 44 km from Beaujeu (the historic capital of Beaujolais) & 52 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny. A soothing haven “out of this world and out of time,” the perfect “retreat” for an ultra-relaxing “green getaway” with the family!

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.

Armand, a Charolais cattle breeder, welcomes you to a charming, authentic 17th-century Brionnaise farmhouse, steeped in history and meticulously restored, flanked by a former farm outbuilding that has also been perfectly preserved (now used as a carport), nestled like a "lookout" on a hillside, on a sunny eastern slope overlooking a bucolic valley of wooded meadows. Absolute peace and quiet, nestled on the edge of the meadows (with, in season, the famous local cows as close, special neighbors) within a picturesque little rural residential hamlet nestled on a cul-de-sac in the heart of the famous and magnificent Charolais bocage dotted with ponds and rivers. A setting and location of exceptional beauty, 100% relaxing and restful. A truly “postcard-perfect” landscape that is literally enchanting, offering sumptuous “panoramic viewpoints” (including the nearby hill of Sainte-Foy). In the heart of the rolling Brionnais countryside (designated a ZNIEFF for its rich flora and fauna), nestled within a sublime, preserved natural setting, not far from the banks of the Loire—"Europe’s last wild river" (protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its exceptional plant and animal biotope), as well as the first wooded foothills of the Monts du Beaujolais. A very comfortable holiday cottage. Very spacious. Rooms with generous dimensions. A warm, rustic charm with a "touch of yesteryear," blending contemporary touches with "gentle rusticity," enhanced by the utterly exotic atmosphere of an old rural home (original beams, stone and wood lintels, rare "sink stone," stone bull’s-eye window, wooden staircase…). Tons of charm and character. A very pleasant enclosed garden, carefully landscaped with flowers, plants, and grass, surrounded by elegant period stone walls, featuring a large gravel courtyard (serving as both a potential terrace and a true “natural pétanque court”), home to a cherry tree (picking available during your stay) and a lovely linden tree providing welcome natural shade in the summer. A true haven of peace and relaxation, offering a splendid unobstructed view of the surrounding countryside.
Layout: Detached house. Wi-Fi (fiber). Heat pump heating (ground floor) + electric heating (upstairs). Fireplace. Duplex holiday cottage on two levels. Ground floor: open-concept living room-kitchen, living room, bathroom (shower), separate toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms (each with a 140x190cm double bed), separate toilet. Enclosed 400 m² lot (garden + courtyard) + courtyard terrace (gravel) + "natural" pétanque court in the courtyard + carport (2 spaces) + garage (2 spaces) + private bike storage. Mini-market 3.5 km away. Supermarket and amenities 14 km away.
