A complete change of scene! Charming, authentic, traditional 18th-century stable - steeped in history & fully restored - nestled in the calm of the Brionnais Countryside, bordering a bucolic pond on the site of an old mill, in a peaceful, typical rural hamlet 10 km (equidistant) from Charolles, the "Venise Charolaise" ("Site Clunisien" & famous city of Charles the Bold) and La Clayette, nestling amphitheatrically on the shores of a 30-hectare pond bordered by a majestic medieval château dating from 1380, a veritable jewel in the crown of South Burgundy's heritage (both towns boasting a wide range of amenities, including supermarkets and a wealth of sports and leisure facilities). Total peace and quiet in magnificent rolling Countryside combining agriculture and nature (in an area protected as a ZNIEFF for its rich ecosystems) in the heart of the sublime Charolais bocage dotted with beautiful forests and ponds, not far from Saint-Cyr Mountain (the highest point in southern Burgundy), nestled between the verdant Arconce valley (also classified as a ZNIEFF) & the first wooded foothills of the Beaujolais massif (partly classified & protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone"). Privileged location on the route of the Romanesque churches & several marked "Balades Vertes" footpaths (a very rich network of identical hiking trails criss-crossing the region, to be explored on foot or mountain bike), 8 km from the "Cycloroute71" (bicycle tour of Saône-et-Loire), 10 km from a marked "VTT-FFC" mountain bike route (linked to a vast network of similar trails criss-crossing the region), 17 km of the GR7, 17 km of the EuroVélo6 cycle route linked to the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo", 20 km of the Voie Verte "Véloire" running alongside the famous Canal du Centre & the Loire (the last "wild river in Europe" protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone") and some 40 km from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais & Beaujolais (various wine routes connected to the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne"). At the crossroads of Charolais-Brionnais (labelled "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire", cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed), Mâconnais, Beaujolais & Tournugeois-Clunisois (labelled "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire"), territories rich in absolutely grandiose landscapes and an exceptional historical heritage. Ideal for exploring (RCEA access 11 km away): 17 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France, literally a show dedicated to the local Charolais star!), 20 km from Paray-le-Monial, 25 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, awarded the rare "Plus beaux villages de France" label, 29 km from Marcigny ("Site Clunisien" famous for its Monday morning market created in 1266), 30 km from Charlieu, 32 km from Digoin (river Marina connected to the Canal du Centre & "quiet canal" linking Digoin to Roanne), 44 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of the Beaujolais region), 48 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny & 52 km from the sumptuous landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labelled "Grand Site de France".

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.
Joëlle & Henri (owners of two private ponds just a stone's throw from the Holiday cottage / fishing available for pike, carp, tench, roach...) open the doors to a charming, traditional 18th-century stable steeped in history, entirely restored by them (once linked to the old country mill that occupied the site, whose imposing remains remain today), nestled on the edge of a bucolic little pond (home to ducks, egrets, swans & many birds). Calm & tranquility nestled in a peaceful, typical rural hamlet, both residential & agricultural (with their son's family farm just a stone's throw away / "farm tour" available on request), nestled in the unspoilt Brionnais Countryside in a peaceful meadow valley crossed by a stream, in the heart of the sublime local bocage dotted with ponds & rivers (where the famous Charolais cows graze in season), in close proximity to beautiful wild forests. Magnificent undulating countryside with a mix of agriculture and nature (to be explored on relaxing walks or mountain bike rides). Holiday cottage with a country feel and contemporary accents, a touch "rustic", combined with rich traces of the original building (beams and stone walls & lintels preserved). Large gravel terrace with south-west exposure facing the pond, offering a beautiful unobstructed view of the surrounding Countryside, complemented by a pleasant mini-garden nestled under trees (shaded in summer). Access to a "natural" petanque court (shared with the other Holiday cottage).
Composition: Semi-detached house with owner's garage (adjoining the second Holiday cottage on the property, completely independent and not overlooked). Electric heating. Ground-floor Holiday cottage: living room/kitchen, 1 bedroom (double bed 140x190cm), shower room, separate toilet. Courtyard + terrace (gravel) + small garden + private parking. Shops & services including supermarkets 10 km away.

Christian Rustig gelegen gîte
Kleine gîte. We misten makkelijke stoelen en een ventilator. De inrichting en het onderhoud hadden het tempo van de tijd niet kunnen bijhouden.
