Magnificent panoramic views and landscapes! Authentic, fully-restored 19th-century farm outbuilding with character - nestled in a "belvedere" on an exposed hillside - in the heart of the Haut-Clunysois Countryside, in a peaceful little rural hamlet, 12 km from the charming, typical market town of Matour (with its many amenities and remarkable level of leisure facilities) & 15 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny. A sublime, unspoilt mountain setting combining bucolic, undulating bocage and vast, wild forests (classified as a "Natura 2000 zone"), overlooking the verdant Grosne valley in the "Little Switzerland of the Mâconnais" and the "green valleys" of southern Burgundy, facing the foothills of the Beaujolais Massif (home to a vast, signposted mountain-biking area), extending the sumptuous landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson "Grand Site de France" label (27 km away). Ultra-privileged location at the start of several signposted "balades vertes" hiking trails (a vast network of trails throughout the region), close to the Romanesque church circuit, 5.5 km from the GR76, 10 km from the GR7, 12 km from the Voie Verte (& its remarkable "Tunnel du Bois Clair", France's longest former railway tunnel open to a Voie Verte at 1.6 km), 15 km from the renowned "Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne" (GTM) mountain bike circuit, some 15 km from the first vineyards of the Côtes Mâconnaises (renowned "Val Lamartinien") & the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne" and some 30 km from the Beaujolais vineyards. Location of choice at the crossroads of Tournugeois-Clunisois (labelled "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire"), Mâconnais & Charolais-Brionnais (labelled "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire", cradle of world-renowned AOC cattle and sheep breeds), all rich in sublime landscapes, renowned gastronomy and a literally exceptional historical heritage (notably medieval & Romanesque). Ideal for touring (RCEA access 4 km away): 6.5 km from the renowned "Lab71" (discovery center based on sustainable development, science, innovation & culture), 7 km from the Pézanin arboretum (400 species of deciduous & coniferous trees over 25 ha, around a bucolic Fishing pond), 27 km from La Clayette, 28 km from Charolles, 29 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 28 km away), 32 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 36 km from the renowned Touroparc Zoo animal park and 40 km from Paray-le-Monial. The perfect resort for a totally relaxing getaway, immersed in a postcard-perfect setting!

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.

Claudette & Bernard welcome you to an authentic 19th-century farm outbuilding of character, completely restored & revisited as a gentle holiday home (once linked to the delightful old traditional farmhouse next door, which they now occupy, also carefully restored) curled up as a "balcony" & "panoramic belvedere" on a well-exposed south-east hillside, in the foothills of a small, gentle mountain range (to be explored on foot or mountain bike during rejuvenating walks). Calm & total tranquility, nestled in the unspoilt countryside of the Haut-Clunysois (classified as a ZNIEFF for its wealth of flora & fauna, in an area also protected as a vast "Natura 2000" zone for its remarkable ecosystem) in the heart of a peaceful little rural hamlet, both residential & agricultural. Soothingly landscaped surroundings, immersed in a magnificent undulating setting of nature & greenery, on the edge of fields & bocage meadows (with horses & foals sometimes in season as privileged close neighbors) under the wooded ridges of a vast wild forest, just a stone's throw away. Large terrace, exposed & shaded (depending on season), with sublime unobstructed views over the surrounding countryside, with the Mâconnais and Clunisois mountains in the background. Splendid panorama and scenery. Generous courtyard with swing and pleasant enclosed garden (shared with owners). Spacious, comfortable gîte. Large living room. Warm country atmosphere.
Composition: Detached house adjoining the owners' house (total independence without vis-à-vis). Wifi (fiber). Electric heating. Duplex gîte. Ground floor (2 steps): living room-kitchen, shower room, separate toilet. 1st floor: 3 bedrooms (2 single beds 90x190cm / 2 single beds 160x200cm / 2 single beds 90x190cm), separate toilet. Terrace + courtyard (with swing) + private parking. Shared enclosed garden (with owners). Shops 7 km away. All amenities 15 km.

    wonderful gite in rural setting

The gite is spacious and has wonderful vieuws of the surrounding hills from an enclosed spacious patio. Claudette is a very friendly and welcoming hostess. It's silence and darkness at night, great. The interior is a bit old-fashioned but we like that. And down the road at 3km versus Brandon there is an excellent restaurant, Le Moulin de Brandon, open Thursdays-Sundays. You must reserve as it is small and popular.
