A picture-perfect setting nestled right in the heart of the Chénas Vineyard! An authentic, characterful hunting lodge dating back to 1630, steeped in history and carefully restored—featuring a beautiful swimming pool (4x8m), a vast, well-maintained and bucolic park, and a small pond shared with the owners—nestled on a small family-run vineyard operated using sustainable “organic viticulture” (within the Beaujolais AOC), in a peaceful rural residential hamlet located 1.5 km from the picturesque wine-growing and commercial village of La Chapelle-de-Guinchay (all amenities available locally, including a supermarket / a rare village officially included in both the Beaujolais and Burgundy Vineyards) and 14 km from Mâcon, the southernmost city in Burgundy (with a Marina on site). Peace and quiet nestled in the heart of unspoiled wine-growing countryside (partly protected as a ZNIEFF site for its rich flora and fauna), on the border of the Mâconnais and the Haut Beaujolais mountains (just a stone’s throw from the vineyards of the famous “Moulin à Vent” cru, not far from the renowned “Val Lamartinien”), in the heart of a rolling plateau covered in vineyards—an exceptional wine-growing setting overlooking the Saône Valley (not far from the riverbanks, part of which is classified as a “Natura 2000” site), extending from the magnificent neighboring scenic gem of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson, designated a “Grand Site de France” (located 13 km away), and a vast, untamed forest. An exceptionally prime location along the “Burgundy Wine Route” (an extension of the Beaujolais Wine Routes), the Romanesque churches circuit, and numerous “nature” hiking trails winding through Vineyards and the great outdoors, including a designated “green trail” (part of a vast network of similar hiking trails throughout the region), 1.5 km from a marked mountain bike trail (connected to a vast mountain bike network radiating out from the forest in a “star” pattern), 2.5 km from the “Cycloroute 71” route (Tour de la Saône-et-Loire by bike), 3 km from the superb GRP “Crus, Vineyards and Monts du Beaujolais” (connected to the GR76), 7 km from the “Voie Bleue” trail running along the Saône (adjacent to the EuroVelo 17 and “ViaRhôna” cycle routes), and 10 km from the “Grande Boucle Bourgogne du Sud” greenway. At the junction of the Rhône and Ain departments, at the crossroads of the Mâconnais, the Beaujolais, the Clunisois-Tournugeois (designated a “Pays d’art et d’Histoire”), and the Bresse de l’Ain—all rich in spectacular landscapes, exceptional heritage, and world-renowned cuisine. A prime location for easily exploring several departments (A6 highway and RCEA connection 12 km away): 6 km from the renowned Touroparc Zoo (Zoo and amusement park), 7 km from “Hameau Dubœuf” (Europe’s first theme park dedicated to vineyards and wine), 9 km from the Mâcon Loché TGV station, 15 km from Belleville-en-Beaujolais, 23 km from Beaujeu (the historic capital of the Beaujolais region), 27 km from Vonnas (Georges Blanc’s gastronomic village), 28 km from Villefranche-sur-Saône, 30 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 44 km from Bourg-en-Bresse, 49 km from Tournus, and 48 km from La Clayette. The perfect spot for any wine lover or for an ultra-relaxing “green getaway” full of new discoveries, whether with family or friends—with some leisurely poolside relaxation as a bonus!

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.
Retired winemakers Marie-Luce and Pierre-Yves (descendants of a line of winemakers dating back to the 17th century) welcome you to an authentic, charming hunting lodge built in 1630 and carefully restored, adjacent to the charming “manor house” they now call home (which once counted the illustrious French poet and politician Alphonse de Lamartine among its distinguished guests) on a historic estate that is home to the family-owned winery “Château Bonnet,” which has been in operation for several centuries (now cultivated by their kids using “organic viticulture” methods across various Beaujolais crus, including the famous Saint-Amour and Moulin à Vent). Peace and quiet, in the heart of a tranquil little rural residential hamlet perched on a gentle hill, on a south-facing slope, not far from the town center of La Chapelle-de-Guinchay, a picturesque wine-growing village with “old-world charm” and charming little shops. A magical and enchanting landscape, nestled right in the heart of the vineyards on the edge of a small valley of meadows (featuring a bucolic little private pond) through which a small, fish-filled river winds. Surrounded by a sublime wine-growing environment, nestled in the heart of the rolling Countryside at the border of the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions (designated a ZNIEFF nature reserve for its rich flora and fauna), in the hollow of a rolling plateau of magnificent Vineyards (flanked by stunning panoramic views stretching all the way to Mont Blanc on clear days!), adjacent to a large, unspoiled forest and the nearby banks of the Saône (designated a “Natura 2000” site for its remarkable ecosystems, particularly its birdlife). Spacious and comfortable holiday cottage. Warm, rustic charm with contemporary touches. Large, sheltered double terraces, offering a choice of sun or shade (east/west). A very pleasant grassy yard with mature trees (a true “natural playground” !) featuring a small, open grove (complete with an unusual, secure “kids’ zip line”) and a small chicken coop, offering a beautiful, unobstructed view of the Countryside and Vineyard. Access to the estate’s beautiful swimming pool with its “unusual decor” (nestled in the château’s inner courtyard!) as well as a swing set (“owners’ side”).
Layout: Holiday cottage in a semi-detached house attached to the owners’ residence (complete privacy). Wi-Fi (fiber). Electric heating. Wood pellet stove. Ground floor: living room-kitchen, separate toilet. First floor: TV lounge on a mezzanine landing (140x190 cm two-person sofa bed available as an extra), 3 bedrooms (2 with 3 single beds 90x200cm, 2 of which can be joined to form a double bed 180x200cm / 2 single beds 90x200 cm that can be joined to form a double bed 180x200 cm), one of which has a private bathroom (shower/toilet) and one with a covered balcony-terrace, bathroom (shower), and separate toilet. Double covered terrace + private parking. 5,000 m² property with a ping-pong table, kids’ zip line, and swing + private pond (below the property) + shared Piscine (8x4 m / accessible until 6:30 p.m.) with the owners. Bike storage. Supermarket and small shops 1.5 km away.

Fabonhols Great base for the whole Beaujolais area
