Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.
Christine and Jean-Michel (a former farmer and breeder of Charolais cows and sheep), welcome you to a delightful authentic 18th-century farmhouse, carefully restored to its former glory and transformed into a charming holiday home, nestling quietly on the edge of an alleyway in a picturesque rural hamlet steeped in history (once linked to the ancient fortress of Uxelles), both residential and agricultural, on the outskirts of the charming village of Chapaize, home to 2 listed 11th-century Romanesque churches (including one of Burgundy's oldest "lantern towers") and the renowned site of the "Dames de Lancharre" (remains of a Priory founded in the 11th century, dedicated to young girls from the local nobility). The surrounding countryside is very peaceful, nestling in the gentle, unspoilt countryside of the Tournuge region (protected under the Natura 2000 & ZNIEFF zones for its wealth of flora and fauna), a stone's throw from the vineyards, in the hollow of a bucolic plateau of fields and hedged meadows, on the edge of a vast national forest where a peaceful fishing pond (l'Étang des Vernes) is hidden. Magnificent undulating setting of total nature and greenery (to be explored on rejuvenating walks or mountain bike rides) offering sublime panoramas and viewpoints. Very comfortable Holiday cottage. Warm "Countryside chic" feel, enhanced by the totally exotic soul of an old rural building (stone walls & lintels, fireplace mantel, beams, ceilings and beautiful original roof frame). A soft, cosy atmosphere that's ultra "enveloping". Enormous charm and character. Large, exposed balcony-terrace overlooking the surrounding Countryside (with Mont Saint-Romain as a backdrop) "topped" by a vast covered terrace (flanked by an outdoor lounge). Pleasant walled garden nestling on the edge of a small pasture, home to the owners' Empshire sheep in season, with an atypically intimate sheltered terrace in a former lean-to. Access to a pétanque court adjoining the Holiday cottage (on the owner's side). Composition: Detached house (adjoining a large barn) adjoining the owners' house (total independence without vis-à-vis). Wifi (fiber). Electric heating + wood pellet stove. Laundry room on ground floor (washing machine + dryer). Access to Holiday cottage via outside staircase rising to one level. 1st floor: kitchen-living room, shower room (shower/Wc). 2nd floor: 2 bedrooms (each with 2 140x190cm beds), separate toilet. Balcony-terrace + sheltered terrace + enclosed garden (150m² / slightly "offset" 15m from Holiday cottage) with covered terrace + garage (1 space) + bike room + private parking. Access to owners' pétanque court (adjacent to Holiday cottage). Supermarket 3 km away. Supermarket 12 km away. Amenities 16 km away.
