A charming, authentic 18th-century farmhouse—featuring a lovely 150-square-meter enclosed garden and several terraces —carefully restored to its former glory as a charming vacation home, nestled in a quiet, picturesque rural hamlet, just a stone’s throw from the vineyards, on the edge of pastures, at the edge of a beautiful national Forest, 12 km from the charming medieval town of Saint-Gengoux-le-National, designated a "Cité de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté" (with numerous amenities including a supermarket), 16 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny (awarded the very rare and prestigious “European Heritage” label) and 18 km from Tournus, a world-renowned abbey site situated on the banks of the Saône (Marina / A6 access). Nestled in the heart of the unspoiled Tournus countryside (protected as a Natura 2000 and ZNIEFF site for its rich ecosystems), on the outskirts of the small, historic, and perfectly preserved village of Chapaize (home to the renowned "Dames de Lancharre" site, located 5.5 km away), nestled between the Grosne and Saône rivers at the foot of the wooded foothills of the Southern Burgundy massif (a superb wilderness area to explore on foot or by mountain bike), nestled in a sublime, rolling landscape of unspoiled nature and greenery, combining Vineyards, beautiful Forests, and lush, wooded meadows. An exceptionally privileged location at the crossroads of the Mâconnais and Côtes Chalonnaises vineyards, along the "Burgundy Wine Route" (which extends into the "Route des Grands Vins"), the Romanesque church circuit, the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de la Saône-et-Loire by bike), several nature trails, and a marked “green walk” (a vast network of similar hiking trails to explore in the area), 1.5 km from the GR76, which connects to the famous GR “Chemin de Cluny” (ViaCluny) as well as the legendary "Chemin des Moines" (which once connected the abbeys of Cîteaux and Cluny), 3 km from the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" Greenway, 3 km from the renowned GTM mountain biking trail certified "VTT FFC" (Grand Tour of the Southern Burgundy Massif, connected to a vast network of similar mountain bike trails crisscrossing the massif in a "star" pattern), 12 km from a marked cycling route serving the Greenway of the famous Canal du Centre (a route also worth exploring during a relaxing Boat ride), adjacent to the EuroVelo 6 cycle route as well as the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélos," 13 km from the renowned Mont Saint-Romain mountain bike downhill trail & 18 km from the Voie Bleue running along the banks of the Saône. At the crossroads of the Tournugeois-Clunisois region (designated a "Land of Art and History"), the Mâconnais, the Chalonnais, and the Bresse Bourguignonne, rich in magnificent landscapes and a truly unique historical heritage (particularly medieval and Romanesque). 7.5 km from Taizé (and its famous religious community), 10 km from the medieval village of Brancion, 13 km from the Blanot caves, 18 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 26 km from the rare Truchère Nature Reserve (a remarkable protected ecosystem), 31 km from the medieval town of Mont-Saint-Vincent (one of Burgundy’s most beautiful sites, featuring a truly unique 360° panoramic viewpoint), 35 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (designated a “City of Art and History”), 37 km from the magnificent scenic gem of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson, designated a “Grand Site de France,” 40 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 38 km away), 42 km from Charolles, and 46 km from Louhans (capital of the Burgundian Bresse). A perfect, exotic "retreat," brimming with charm and serenity, for a relaxing getaway in nature—whether with your partner or the whole family!

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.

Christine and Jean-Michel (a former farmer who raised Charolais cattle and sheep) welcome you to a charming, authentic country farmhouse built in the 18th century, carefully restored to the highest standards, nestled in a quiet spot off a narrow lane within a picturesque little rural hamlet steeped in history (once linked to the former fortified castle of Uxelles), which is both residential and agricultural, situated on the outskirts of the charming, typical village of Chapaize, home to two listed 11th-century Romanesque churches (including one of the oldest "lantern tower" in Burgundy) as well as the renowned site of the "Dames de Lancharre" (remains of a priory founded in the 11th century, dedicated to young women from the local nobility). Set in a very peaceful, scenic landscape, nestled in the heart of the unspoiled Tourneux countryside (protected as a Natura 2000 and ZNIEFF site for its rich flora and fauna), just a stone’s throw from the Vineyards, nestled in a bucolic plateau of fields and wooded meadows, on the edge of a vast national Forest where a serene Fishing Pond (the Étang des Vernes) lies hidden. A magnificent, rolling setting of unspoiled nature and greenery (perfect for rejuvenating walks or mountain bike rides) offering sublime panoramas and scenic viewpoints. A very comfortable holiday cottage. Warm "countryside chic" charm, enhanced by the utterly exotic atmosphere of an old rural building (stone walls & lintels, fireplace mantel, beams, ceilings, and beautiful original woodwork). A soft, cozy, and ultra-inviting atmosphere. Plenty of charm and character. A large, sunny balcony-terrace offering a beautiful view of the surrounding Countryside (with Mont Saint-Romain as a backdrop) “capping” a vast covered terrace (flanked by an “outdoor” relaxation area). A pleasant, enclosed garden, slightly set back and nestled on the edge of a small pasture that, in season, hosts the owners’ “Empshire” breed sheep (native to England), featuring a unique, intimate covered terrace where a former lean-to once stood. Access to the owners’ pétanque court adjacent to the holiday cottage.
Layout: Detached house (attached to a large barn) adjacent to the owners’ home (complete privacy with no direct neighbors). Wi-Fi (fiber). Electric heating + wood pellet stove. Laundry room on the ground floor (washer + dryer). Access to the holiday cottage via an outdoor staircase leading up one level. 1st floor: open-concept living-dining-kitchen area, bathroom (shower/toilet). 2nd floor: 2 bedrooms (each with a 140x190cm double bed), separate toilet. Balcony-terrace + covered terrace + enclosed garden (150 m² / slightly set back 15 m from the holiday cottage) with covered terrace + garage (1 space) + bike storage + private parking. Access to the owners’ pétanque court (adjacent to the holiday cottage). Convenience store 3 km away. Supermarket 12 km away. Amenities 16 km away.
