A change of scenery guaranteed in the "heart of a village" in a beautifully landscaped setting! Spacious, contemporary Holiday cottage nestled in a carefully restored 1910 traditional character property - with a beautiful swimming pool (8x4m) - set in enclosed grounds in the heart of the peaceful & picturesque village of Dompierre-les-Ormes (rich in small shops including a mini-market, home to the exceptional Pézanin arboretum and the renowned "Lab71", a departmental center for discoveries in sustainable development & science), 10 km from the charming shopping town of Matour, which has been awarded the "Station verte de vacances" label (numerous amenities including a small supermarket & a remarkable level of leisure facilities). Sublime countryside & natural setting in a gentle mountain setting, combining bucolic rolling bocage & vast wild forests, nestled in the Haut-Clunysois Countryside (the "Little Switzerland of the Mâconnais", protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its remarkable ecosystems), in the "Verts Vallons" of South Burgundy, overlooking the verdant Grosne valley opposite the massif of northern Beaujolais (& its vast signposted "mountain bike area" criss-crossing the massif) in the extension of the sumptuous neighbouring landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labelled "Grand Site de France" (located 33 km away), in close proximity to Mont Saint-Cyr (highest point in southern Burgundy at 771m), as well as the iconic Butte de Suin. On the routes of the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike) & numerous signposted footpaths, including a "balade verte" (many similar paths criss-crossing the region, to be explored on foot or mountain bike), not far from the Romanesque church circuit, 3.5 km from the GR7, 18 km from the Voie Verte of the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" (& the remarkable "Tunnel du Bois Clair", France's longest former railway tunnel open to a Voie Verte with its 1.6 km), 21 km of the renowned GTM mountain bike trail ("Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne" linked to a vast network of identical signposted mountain bike trails criss-crossing the massif), around 20 km of the Mâconnais vineyards ("Route des Vins de Bourgogne" to explore) & around 30 km of the Beaujolais vineyards (first vineyard in the world to be recognized as a UNESCO World Geopark / various wine routes to discover). At the southern tip of Burgundy, on the borders of the Mâconnais region, at the crossroads of the Clunisois-Tournugeois (label "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") & the Charollais-Brionnais (label "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), a land of livestock farming and traditions, home to the world-renowned AOC cattle breed. Ideal for touring (RCEA access 4.5 km): 20 km from La Clayette, 21 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 22 km from Charolles, 35 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 34 km away), 36 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 36 km from Paray-le-Monial, 40 km from the characterful town of Charlieu, 41 km from the charming medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, awarded the rare "Plus beaux villages de France" label & 45km from Marcigny. The perfect "spot" for a relaxing "mise au vert" with many discoveries for your "mini tribe", with farniente & lézadarge by the pool as a bonus!
