Nestled between "city and countryside" on a peaceful small family farm perched "on the heights" of Paray-le-Monial, the world-renowned sanctuary of the "Sacré-Cœur"! A charming 1940s home (an extension of an authentic traditional farmhouse dating from the 19th century) carefully restored—featuring a spacious 35m² panoramic balcony-terrace offering a superb unobstructed view of the City — nestled on the edge of meadows and pastures, perched on a hillside, 1.5 km from the town center (with plenty of shops and services nearby) and 2.5 km from supermarkets. Peace and quiet, nestled in the lush Bourbince Valley (designated a ZNIEFF nature reserve for its rich flora and fauna) and its unspoiled, bucolic countryside blending agriculture and wilderness amidst magnificent wooded Charolais farmland dotted with rivers and ponds and beautiful wild forests. Location along the Romanesque church circuit and various marked hiking trails known as "green walks" (a vast network of similar hiking trails to explore in the area, on foot or by mountain bike), 2 km from the “Véloire” Greenway running along the banks of the Loire (Europe’s last wild river, protected as a Natura 2000 site) adjacent to “Cycloroute71” (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), 2.5 km from the Greenway of the famous Canal du Centre (a route also worth exploring on relaxing Boat trips), connected to the EuroVelo 6 cycle route as well as the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo," 14 km from a marked mountain biking trail certified "VTT-FFC" (adjacent to a vast network of similar trails crisscrossing the Brionnais region in a "star" pattern), about 50 km from the Vineyards of the Côtes Mâconnaises and Côtes Roannaises, and about 60 km from the Côtes Chalonnaises and the Beaujolais (the world’s first Vineyard recognized as a “UNESCO Global Geopark”) / various wine routes to explore, including the "Burgundy Wine Route," which is extended by the "Route des Grands Vins"). At the very southern tip of Burgundy, at the crossroads of the Allier, Loire, and Rhône rivers, in the heart of the magnificent Charolais-Brionnais region (designated a "Land of Art and History," a land of livestock farming and traditions, the birthplace of the world-renowned AOC beef breed), rich in sublime landscapes and exceptional historical heritage, at the crossroads of Sologne, Mountain Bourbonnaise, and the Pays Roannais, not far from the "Clunisois-Tournugeois" (designated a "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"). Ideal for exploring the surrounding area (RCEA 2.5 km away): 12 km from Charolles, 14 km from Digoin (a Marina nestled at the confluence of three canals, including the "Canal du Centre" and the "Canal Tranquille" connecting Digoin to Roanne), 21 km from Anzy-le-Duc (home to one of Burgundy’s most beautiful Romanesque churches), 25 km from Marcigny (“Site Clunisois,” notably known for its Monday morning Market established in 1266), 26 km from La Clayette, 28 km from the charming medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, which holds the rare "Most Beautiful Villages of France" designation, 41 km from the historic town of Charlieu (home to an exceptional Romanesque Benedictine abbey), 43 km from the spa town and medieval village of Bourbon-Lancy, 46 km from the renowned PAL amusement park, 50 km from the Creusot TGV station (Mâcon-Loché TGV station 64 km away), 50 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny and 57 km from Roanne. A truly rejuvenating "getaway" nestled "in the heart of the meadows," just a stone’s throw from all amenities!

Marie-Agnès and Jean-Marc (a retired farmer) welcome you to a charming 1940s home that has been meticulously restored (an extension of an authentic 19th-century traditional farmhouse, which has also been perfectly restored and which they live in), perched like a "lookout" and "panoramic balcony" on a south-facing hillside, on the lower slopes of the illustrious sanctuary city of "Sacré-Cœur." Peace and quiet, nestled "in the heart of the meadows" on the edge of bucolic pastures and meadows (with the peaceful local cows as close neighbors in season) on a small family farm (run by the owners’ son as a Charolais cattle operation), within a "scattered" residential hamlet overlooking the village. Just a stone’s throw from all shops and services, as well as the unspoiled “Parodian” countryside surrounding it (largely protected within various Natura 2000 and ZNIEFF zones for its rich flora and fauna), in the heart of the gentle Bourbince Valley and its fish-filled river, nestled in the hollow of a bucolic, rolling plateau of wooded meadows dotted with ponds, not far from beautiful wild forests (including the "Bois des Aisances," rich with numerous small trails for relaxing walks through the woods). A major center of Romanesque art located in the "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" region, nestled on the banks of the famous Canal du Centre, Paray-le-Monial boasts a truly exceptional heritage (the late 11th-century Basilica of the Sacred Heart, a masterpiece of Romanesque art and the best-preserved example of Cluniac architecture in Burgundy, the Hiéron Eucharistic Museum, the oldest museum of sacred art in France…) and offers a wide range of amenities, including sports and leisure facilities. A comfortable holiday cottage. Warm country charm with contemporary touches, a touch "rustic." Very bright. A lovely large living room opening onto the landscape. An intimate, spacious balcony-terrace with panoramic views, carefully landscaped with plants and flowers, offering a superb unobstructed view of the City and its basilica, “day and night,” and also providing a perfect vantage point for magnificent “sunsets.” Large, perfectly landscaped gravel courtyard adjoining the holiday cottage, literally a “natural pétanque court.”
Layout: Access to the property via a 200-meter dirt road suitable for vehicles. The holiday cottage is attached to the owner’s home on a small family farm with no particular disturbances (complete privacy with no direct neighbors). Wi-Fi (fiber). Gas heating. Holiday cottage on the 1st floor: kitchen-living room (double sofa bed 140x190cm), 1 bedroom (double bed 140x190cm), bathroom (shower), separate toilet. Balcony-terrace (35 m²) + natural petanque court in the courtyard + private parking. All amenities 1.5 km away. Supermarkets 2.5 km away.
