Elegant authentic bourgeois character property dating back to 1818, fully renovated into a comfortable holiday home - with a lovely heated swimming pool (6x2.5m) - set against a delightful small independent chalet on an intimate, well-kept 6000m² property located 3.5 km from the picturesque village of Anzy-le-Duc (famous for its sumptuous, listed 11th-century Romanesque church) & 7 km from the charming medieval & commercial town of Marcigny, a "Cluniac site" renowned for its Monday morning market created in 1266 (many amenities on site, including supermarkets). Pleasantly landscaped surroundings nestled in the unspoilt Brionnais countryside, in the heart of the bucolic rolling local bocage, on the outskirts of a mini rural hamlet, in the green Arconce valley, very close to the banks of the Loire (Europe's last wild river, protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its rich ecosystems), bordered by the "quiet canal" linking Roanne to Digoin. Ideally located on the route of the Romanesque church circuit & of a hiking trail marked out as a "balade verte" (a vast network of hiking trails of the same type to be explored in the area, on foot or mountain bike), 1.5 km from the Voie Verte "Véloire" along the banks of the Loire (connected to the EuroVélo6 as well as to the "Tour de Bourgogne à vélo"), 1.5 km from a marked "VTT-FFC" mountain bike itinerary (linked to a vast network of similar routes criss-crossing the region), 1.5 km from the "Cycloroute71" (tour de la Saône-et-Loire), around 30 km from the first vineyards of the Côtes Roannaises, around 50 km from the vineyards of the Beaujolais (first vineyard in the world to be recognized as a "UNESCO World Geopark") & around 60 km from the Côtes Maconnaises ("Route des Vins de Bourgogne" & "Route des Vins du Beaujolais" to explore). In the heart of the sublime Charolais-Brionnais region (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), an ultra-renowned land of livestock breeding & traditions, cradle of the world-renowned AOC beef breed, rich in sumptuous landscapes and an exceptional historical heritage, at the crossroads of the Sologne & Bourbonnaise Mountains and the Pays Roannais, not far from the Mâconnais-Clunisois and Beaujolais regions. Privileged location with access to several départements (at the crossroads of Allier, Loire & Rhône): 11 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, awarded the rare "Plus beaux villages de France" label, 16 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais (& its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century), 19 km from Digoin (river Marina linked to the famous Canal du Centre), 21 km from Paray-le-Monial, 26 km from Charolles, 27 km from Charlieu (exceptional Romanesque Benedictine abbey), 30 km from La Clayette, 37 km from Roanne & 47 km from the famous PAL theme park. A charming "pied à terre" for families and friends alike, with poolside lounging as a bonus!

We spent a wonderfull week in the countryside. The garden is very beautifull and spacious, filled with flowers, fruit trees and vegetables. The authentic house is very comfortable and nicely decorated. A big bonus was the chalet that became the home of our two daughters for the week. They enjoyed their private place and hammocs so much!
