A building steeped in history, literally exceptional, nestled in the very heart of the vineyards, just a stone's throw from the Voie Verte! Authentic Romanesque chapel dating back to 1453, carefully converted into a comfortable holiday home, nestled in a charming winegrowing hamlet on the Côtes Chalonnaise, 4.5 km from the "site cluisien" of Saint-Gengoux-le-National, a peaceful medieval winegrowing & shopping town with the "Cités de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté" label (many amenities on site, including a supermarket). Magnificent, gentle rolling countryside, combining vineyards, bucolic bocage & wild forest massifs, nestled in the verdant Grosne valley (protected area & classified as a "Natura 2000" zone for its remarkable ecosystem) at the crossroads of the Haut Mâconnais & Côtes Chalonnaises vineyards (first vines 100m from the gîte!). Ultra-privileged location on the Voie Verte, a signposted cycle route leading to the famous "Canal du Centre", a referenced 26 km "coup de cœur" cycling loop (two other similar routes, 24 & 27 km, are less than 8 km away), the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne", the Romanesque church circuit & several signposted "balades vertes" footpaths (a vast network of hiking trails of this type, winding between vineyards & nature, to be explored throughout the region), 3.5 km from the GR76 & 14 km from the renowned GTM (Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne) mountain bike route. A prime central location in the heart of southern Burgundy, at the crossroads of the Chalonnais, Tournugeois-Clunisois (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), Mâconnais & Charollais-Brionnais (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), splendidly preserved territories all rich in sublime landscapes, renowned gastronomy and exceptional historical heritage (notably medieval & Romanesque). Ideal for easy access: 16 km from Taizé (& its famous religious community), 17 km from the medieval town of Brancion, 25 km from Tournus (A6 on site), 23 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 26 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "Ville d'Art et d'Histoire"), 36 km from Le Creusot (renowned Les Combes amusement park / Creusot TGV station 30 km away), 46 km from the sumptuous landscape of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson, designated a "Grand Site de France", 47 km from Charolles, 50 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 46 km away) & 51 km from Louhans. The perfect cocoon for a change of scenery "immersed in the heart of a village & vineyards", for lovers or families, with a pétanque court as a bonus! A literal paradise for cyclists of all kinds!

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.
Madeleine & Bernard open the doors to a very rare authentic 15th-century Romanesque chapel steeped in history (an exceptional "desacralized" heritage building, family property for 5 generations), very carefully restored (having preserved its lava stone roof among other original architectural treasures), nestled in a quiet little lane, a stone's throw from the very first vineyards, in the heart of a picturesque, peaceful and perfectly preserved little winegrowing hamlet, not far from the center of the village of Saint-Boil (listed 10th-century Romanesque church, unusual former Gallo-Roman sculpture quarry dating from the 3rd century, majestic late-19th-century 16-arch Ferroviaire viaduct...to discover). Total tranquility in the heart of the Côtes Chalonnaises & its gentle rolling countryside combining magnificent vineyard slopes, bucolic bocage meadows and vast wild forests, between nature, viticulture & agriculture. Beautifully landscaped surroundings. 100% relaxing & restful. Very comfortable gîte. Warm country charm with contemporary accents, enhanced by the preservation of the rich heritage of the original building (imposing stone pillars & walls, carved "stained glass" window, carved stone niche...). Cozy, cosy atmosphere. Lots of charm & character. Pleasant enclosed gravel courtyard, encircled by elegant stone walls, featuring a large exposed terrace (or naturally shaded if required under a peach tree). There's also a pétanque court opposite the gîte.
Composition : Semi-detached village house. Wifi access. Electric heating. Duplex gîte with half-level (access by outside staircase). 1st floor: living room-kitchen (sofa bed 2 p. 140x190cm), office area, bathroom (shower), separate toilet. 2nd floor: 2 bedrooms (bed 2 p. 160x200cm / 2 beds 1 p. 90x190cm). Enclosed courtyard + bike room + petanque area + private parking. Amenities 4.5 km.
