Belgians by birth and Burgundians by adoption, Vinciane & Alain open the doors of an authentic 19th-century cowshed, completely restored & revisited as a comfortable "rural cottage" (once linked to the elegant, characterful winegrower's house they occupy next door, dating from 1870, which has also been perfectly restored), nestled in a peaceful setting just a stone's throw from the vineyards, on the edge of a bucolic plateau of fields & meadows nestled beneath the gentle wooded ridges of the surrounding Forest, on the outskirts of a peaceful & picturesque little wine-producing village in the Haut-Mâconnais region. Perfectly preserved, nestled in the heart of the unspoilt Tournuge countryside, in a soothing valley surrounded by vast, untamed forests, on the southern slopes of the Crâ hill (offering exceptional panoramic views as far as Mont Blanc on a clear day), in the heart of a natural area protected by ZNIEFF & "Zone Natura 2000" for its rich fauna & flora (to be explored on relaxing walks or mountain bike rides), the typical village of Royer enjoys a sublime undulating landscape, combining nature, viticulture & agriculture.
