Superb landscaped setting, nestled in the heart of the magnificent Brionnais bocage! Delightful authentic traditional Charolais farmhouse dating from the late 19th century - fully restored & with a pleasant garden planted with trees - quietly located 10 km from Charolles, the "Venice of Charolais", famous city of Charles the Bold (many amenities on site). In a mini rural hamlet, leading to the picturesque village of Saint-Julien-de-Civry, nestled in the rolling Brionnais countryside with its sublime, unspoilt landscapes, between agriculture and nature, in the green Arconce valley (classified as a ZNIEFF for its wealth of flora and fauna). Privileged location on the route of the Romanesque church circuit, of several hiking trails marked out as "balades vertes" (adjoining the vast network of hiking trails of the same type criss-crossing the region), of a referenced 63 km "boucle vélo coup de cœur" (2 other itineraries of the same type of 55 & 88 km accessible within a 10 km radius), 13 kms from the Voie Verte "Véloire" (running alongside the Loire, Europe's last "wild river", protected as a "Natura 2000 zone") connected "in a star formation" to EuroVélo6 and another Voie Verte, and some 50 kms from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais & Beaujolais regions ("Burgundy Wine Route"). Right in the heart of the Charolais-Brionnais region (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") - cradle of the world-renowned AOC beef and sheep breeds - rich in sumptuous landscapes, renowned gastronomy and exceptional historical heritage, close to the Allier, Loire & Rhône departments as well as the Montagne Bourbonnaise, at the crossroads of the Pays Roannais and the Clunisois-Tournugeois (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"). Ideal for touring: 12 km from La Clayette, 16 km from Paray-le-Monial, 20 km from Anzy-le-Duc (one of Burgundy's most beautiful Romanesque sites), 23 km from Marcigny, 29 km from Digoin (river marina nestled at the convergence of 3 renowned canals, including the famous Canal du Centre), 31 km from Charlieu (exceptional Romanesque Benedictine abbey), 48 km from Cluny, 51 km from Roanne & 61 km from Mâcon Loché TGV station. The perfect "pied à terre" for a relaxing "mise au vert" with family or friends. With a nod to cyclists, you'll be following in the footsteps of Bernard Thévenet, a native of the area and two-time winner of the Tour de France, who lived and grew up just a stone's throw from the gîte!

Marie-Joseph & Bernard open the doors of a delightful, traditional 19th-century farmhouse, carefully restored & converted into a cosy holiday home, set in the quiet Brionnaise & Charolais countryside, in a typical rural mini hamlet, on the road leading to the village (just 1 km away). Magnificent, unspoilt countryside setting, nestled in a bucolic, vast "open" plateau of undulating bocage - offering several superb "panoramic lookouts", especially at sunset - nestled at the foot of the "colline de Vaux", flanked by its unusual "mini vineyard" (a local feature), dominated at its summit by an elegant 17th-century château. Magnificent panorama and surrounding landscape. Totally soothing, rejuvenating & relaxing. Just a stone's throw from the picturesque little village of Saint-Julien-de-Civry, with its outstanding heritage (listed 12th-century Romanesque church, old water mills, typical farmhouses, wash-house...), a few shops and a pétanque court & city-stadium (for basketball, soccer & other ball games). Comfortable gîte. Very spacious. Warm country feel, with a touch of vintage. Gentle, relaxing atmosphere.
