For a relaxing “Left Bank” getaway, nestled peacefully “by the water” on the banks of the Saône! Between “City and Countryside,” with all shops and services right on site! A comfortable, charming holiday cottage housed in carefully restored former outbuildings of a beautiful, characterful 19th-century bourgeois mansion located on a cul-de-sac within a sprawling 1.4-hectare property—featuring a lovely 4x10-meter swimming pool — nestled in a peaceful residential neighborhood steeped in history, facing the “postcard-perfect” quays of the charming gastronomic and shopping town of Tournus (a world-renowned abbey site, Marina, and unparalleled sports and recreational facilities), equidistant from Dijon and Lyon. Nestled in the unspoiled countryside of Tournus (protected as a ZNIEFF and various Natura 2000 sites for its rich ecosystems), combining hedgerows, beautiful wild forests, and Vineyard-covered hillsides (the nearest vineyards are just 3.5 km away), in the heart of the Saône Valley on the wooded foothills of the South Burgundy massif (wild and protected), just a stone’s throw from the remarkable Truchère Nature Reserve (an exceptional ecosystem, a mosaic of natural habitats, bordering the confluence of the Saône and Seille rivers). An exceptionally prime location along the routes of the Romanesque Churches Circuit, the “Voie Bleue” (running alongside the Saône) adjacent to the “Voie Verte” of the “Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud,” and the “Cycloroute 71” (Saône-et-Loire Cycling Tour), the renowned GTM mountain bike trail certified “VTT FFC” (Grand Tour of the Southern Burgundy Massif, connected to a vast network of similarly marked mountain bike trails crisscrossing the massif), hiking trails marked as “green walks” (an extensive network of similar trails crisscrossing the region, suitable for hiking or mountain biking), the GR76, and the famous “ViaCluny” GR (running alongside the historic “Chemin des Moines,” which once connected the abbeys of Cîteaux and Cluny), in close proximity to various wine routes (“Route des Grands Vins” and “Route des Vins de Bourgogne”), and just 14 km away from the renowned Mont Saint-Romain downhill mountain bike trail. In the heart of the Tournugeois-Clunisois region (designated a “Pays d’Art et d’Histoire”), at the crossroads of the Côtes Mâconnaises and Côtes Chalonnaises vineyards, where the Ain region meets the rich territories of the Mâconnais, the Bresse Bourguignonne, and the Chalonnais. Ideal for exploring the surrounding area (A6 highway nearby): 7 km from Cuisery, listed among France’s very exclusive 8 “Villages du Livre,” 12 km from the medieval village of Brancion, 16 km from Lugny (“the little capital of the Haut-Mâconnais,” home to the first winery to produce Burgundy wines), 24 km from the medieval town of Saint-Gengoux-le-National (designated a “Cité de Caractère” in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté), 28 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (designated a “City of Art and History”), 30 km from Louhans (capital of the Bresse region, renowned for its highly acclaimed “Monday market,” designated a “Remarkable site of taste,”) 31 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 37 km away), 34 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 42 km from the magnificent natural gem of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson (designated a “Grand Site de France”), 46 km from Vonnas (Georges Blanc’s gastronomic and gourmet village) and 55 km from Beaune. Option to rent all four holiday cottages on the property together for a total capacity of 15 people (including properties #3337, 3338, and 3339). The perfect “spot” for a 100% refreshing and exotic getaway, with access to a private dock “on the water” as a bonus!
