Unusual haven of peace "in the heart of town", steeped in history & full of sweet surprises, "Accueil Vélo" label! Authentic, fully-restored maison de maître dating from 1830, nestled in a quiet, enclosed, well-kept 1500m² property - with a beautiful 3.5x7m swimming pool & two bedrooms in gipsy caravans - nestled in the heart of the charming shopping town of Marcigny, "Site Clunisois" renowned for its Monday morning market created in 1266 (many amenities on site, including supermarkets) & 4 km from the charming medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, awarded the rare "Plus beaux villages de France" label. Just a stone's throw from the gentle Countryside of Brionnais, a magnificently preserved setting combining sumptuous bocages dotted with ponds & beautiful wild Forests, as well as the nearby banks of the Loire which runs alongside the village (Europe's last wild river, protected as a "Zone Natura 2000" & ZNIEFF), bordered by the "Canal tranquille" linking Roanne to Digoin. Ideally located on the route of the Romanesque church circuit, several signposted "VTT-FFC" mountain bike itineraries (linked "en étoile" to a vast network criss-crossing the Brionnais region), a signposted "Balade Verte" hiking trail (many similar hiking trails to be explored in the area), 1 km from the "Voie Verte Véloire" (green route), which is linked to the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône et Loire à vélo), connected to the EuroVélo6 cycle route and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélos" (Tour of Burgundy by bike), 30 km from the first vineyards of the Côtes Roannaises & 50 km from the vineyards of northern Beaujolais (various wine routes connected to the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne"). Prime location at the very southern tip of Burgundy, in the heart of the magnificent Charolais-Brionnais region (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed, rich in sumptuous landscapes and an exceptional historical heritage, at the crossroads of the Sologne & Mountain Bourbonnaise and the Pays Roannais, not far from the Mâconnais-Clunisois and Beaujolais regions. Location of choice for easy access to several départements (at the crossroads of the Allier, Loire & Rhône): 13 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France, literally a show dedicated to the local Charolais star!), 21 km from the characterful town of Charlieu, 24 km from La Clayette, 25 km from Paray-le-Monial, 25 km from Digoin (river Marina coiled at the convergence of 3 renowned canals, including the famous Canal du Centre), 29 km from Charolles, 30 km from Roanne & 55 km from the famous PAL theme park. The perfect resort for all cycling enthusiasts, as well as for a relaxing break offering a host of pleasures, with the added bonus of lounging by the Piscine!
