Elegant, carefully restored authentic 18th century winegrower's house with traditional character - featuring a historic enclosed patio courtyard & a pleasant, intimate walled garden - set on a south-facing hillside in the peaceful & picturesque winegrowing village of Leynes, 13 km from the center of Mâcon (all amenities and river port linked to the Saône). Magnificent wine-growing & natural setting in the heart of the Mâcon countryside, partly classified as a "Natura 2000" zone for the quality of its ecosystem, nestled in the very heart of the sublime vineyards of the illustrious Saint-Véran cru in the gentle Arlois valley, a bucolic valley of vineyard slopes nestled beneath the wooded ridges of a vast wild forest massif, overlooking the Saône valley on the borders of the Mâconnais & Haut Beaujolais mountains, in the extension of the renowned "Val Lamartinien" (named after the famous French poet & writer) & the neighbouring sumptuous landscaped jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labelled "Grand Site de France" (5 km away). Ultra-privileged location at the very southern tip of Burgundy, on the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne", the Romanesque church circuit, the GR76, a referenced mountain bike trail (connected to a vast signposted mountain bike area criss-crossing the massif) & a signposted "balade verte" hiking trail (several other similar trails winding between vineyards and open countryside to discover in the vicinity), 7.5 km from the voie verte and 8 km from the EuroVélo17 cycle route along the Saône. At the crossroads of Rhône & Ain, Mâconnais, Beaujolais, Clunisois-Tournugeois (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") & Bresse de l'Ain. Ideal for commuting (A6 & RCEA connection 8 km away): 4.5 km from Saint-Amour-Bellevue (ultra-renowned gastronomic stopover with "star" restaurants), 8 km from Mâcon Loché TGV station, 12 km from Touroparc Zoo animal park, 22 km from Belleville-en-Beaujolais, 26 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 26 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 36 km from Villefranche-sur-Saône, 45 km from Tournus, 47 km from La Clayette & 47 km from Bourg-en-Bresse. An atypical residence steeped in history, the perfect "pied-à-terre" for a rejuvenating 100% change of scenery in the heart of a sumptuously landscaped setting!

Retired winegrowers (Château des Correaux is a stone's throw away, a family estate since 1803 run by their son in "viticulture raisonnée" / tasting & visit possible on reservation), Marie-Edith & Jean welcome you to an elegant, traditional 18th-century winegrower's house steeped in history & meticulously restored - with its unusual enclosed interior patio & typical Mâconnais gallery - set on a balcony, on a south-western hillside with good exposure, in the heart of a charming Côtes Mâconnaises winegrowing village. Nestling in the very heart of the bucolic vineyards of the famous Saint-Véran cru, in the gentle Arlois valley (the only one in Burgundy to produce the white, rosé & red wines of both southern Burgundy and northern Beaujolais), beneath the wooded crests of a forest protected as a "Zone Natura 2000" & a vast wild forest massif, Leynes boasts a sublime landscape setting (on a clear day, you can see the Alps as far as Mont-Blanc from its heights). Very comfortable gîte. Very spacious. Warm, neo-rustic country style with a mix of vintage spirit and more contemporary touches. Exotic atmosphere of an old country home.
