Elegant "Anglo-Norman" style villa dating from the early 20th century, nestled in a pleasant 800m² walled garden, in the heart of a peaceful, typical rural village, 10 km from La Clayette (many local amenities including supermarkets), a charming shopping city nestled amphitheatrically on the shores of a 30-hectare pond bordered by a majestic medieval castle (dating from 1380), one of South Burgundy's heritage gems! Peace & quiet in the heart of the Brionnais Countryside, a magnificently preserved setting combining agriculture & nature, nestled in the sublime local rolling bocage dotted with woods, ponds & rivers, just a stone's throw from a beautiful wild forest, in an area protected by the ZNIEFF for its rich ecosystems. Ideally located on the Romanesque churches circuit, the "Cycloroute71" (bicycle tour of the Saône-et-Loire region) & several hiking trails marked out as "balades vertes" (accessible within a stone's throw, connected to a vast network of hiking trails of the same type criss-crossing the region), 10 km from a mountain bike route marked out as "VTT-FFC" (connected to a vast network of similar trails criss-crossing the region), 18 km from the Voie Verte "Véloire" along the banks of the Loire (Europe's last wild river, protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone"), 28 km from a greenway linked to the EuroVélo6 cycle route and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo", about 40 km from the first vineyards of the Beaujolais (first vineyard in the world to be recognized as a "UNESCO World Geopark") and the Cotes Roannaises & about 50 km from the Côtes Maconnaises ("Route des Vins de Bourgogne" & "Route des Vins du Beaujolais" to explore). Privileged location at the southern tip of Burgundy, not far from the first wooded foothills of the Monts du Beaujolais, right in the heart of the superb Charolais-Brionnais region, which has been awarded the "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" label - cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed - at the crossroads of the Allier, Loire & Rhône departments, at the crossroads of Sologne & Mountain Bourbonnaise, Pays Roannais, Mâconnais-Clunisois and Beaujolais. Perfectly located to cover several départements: 5.5 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France, literally a show dedicated to the local Charolais star!), 14 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, awarded the rare "Most Beautiful Villages in France" label, 14 km from Charlieu, 15 km from Chauffailles, 18 km from Marcigny (famous Monday morning market created in 1266), 26 km from Charolles, 27 km from Paray-le-Monial, 34 km from Roanne, 35 km from Digoin (river Marina at the convergence of 3 famous canals, including the famous Canal du Centre), 40 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais) & 52 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny. An atypical & very comfortable resort, full of charm, cosy & cozy, to recharge your batteries as a "mini tribe"! With family and friends alike!

Patricia & Jean-Jacques open the doors to an elegant, atypical early-20th-century Anglo-Norman villa, nestled in a quiet alleyway in the heart of the peaceful & charming village of Vauban, the only one in France to bear such a name (bequeathed in the 18th century by Antoine Le Prestre de Vauban, administrator of the site, nephew of the illustrious Maréchal de France, military engineer and architect, Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban), a picturesque, unspoilt village with a 12th-century Romanesque church (listed as a Monument Historique) & a citystadium (opposite the Holiday cottage). Absolute tranquility, nestled in the gentle, unspoilt Brionnais Countryside, in the hollow of a vast, undulating plateau of sublime wooded bocage dotted with fish-filled ponds & rivers (home in season to the famous local Charolais cows), a stone's throw from a beautiful, wild Forest. Magnificent surrounding countryside & nature, partly protected as a ZNIEFF for its wealth of flora & fauna. Beautifully landscaped setting, 100% soothing & relaxing. Spacious, comfortable Holiday cottage. Spacious living room. Warm country charm combining tradition & modernity, sublimated by the exotic soul of an old "bourgeois" home. Enormous charm & character. Cosy & cozy atmosphere in the spirit of a gentle "family home". Large, exposed terrace opening onto a pleasant, intimate 800m² enclosed garden (with flowers, grass & trees) nestled behind hedges.
