Authentic 19th century miners' house - revisited into a comfortable gîte with a pleasant enclosed garden - quietly located in the old working-class quarters (close to shops & services) adjoining the center of the charming typical village & merchant of Epinac (former mining town today labeled "Station Verte"), nestled on the border of the Côte d'Or, on the south-eastern slope of the Morvan massif at the gates of the Natural Park. In the heart of Autunois, sumptuous preserved territory, steeped in history, traditions, legends & mysteries, rich in an exceptional heritage (ancient, medieval, industrial ...) & absolutely grandiose landscapes (gentle hilly mountain combining groves , green valleys, rivers and majestic forests), dotted with many marked hiking trails in the heart of nature. Prime location on the very route of the greenway (connected to EuroVélos6), at the start of several “green walks” (heritage and nature discovery routes), not far from the circuit of Romanesque churches, around ten kms from the first vineyards of the famous Côtes de Beaune (& the route des “Grands Crus”) and about fifteen km from Couchois (Côtes Chalonnaises & route des “Grands Vins”), 18 km from the canal du center (the “Canal quiet ”) & 21 km of a mountain bike circuit connected to the legendary GTMC. Authentic 19th-century miners' house steeped in history - completely restored inside - nestled on the edge of a small, little-traveled (one-way) alleyway in the heart of the old workers' quarters (peaceful residential area), adjoining the center of the charming, typical, shopping village of Epinac (with a wide range of local amenities), a major mining town of the late 19th & early 20th centuries (a major industrial site producing glass & coal) associated with one of France's oldest railway lines (of which the station remains). Now a "Station Verte" (a benchmark ecotourism label for "nature" destinations), the City boasts a rich industrial heritage (dedicated Museums, "Circuit des gueules noires" leading to the 10 most important former wells, numerous relics including the perfectly preserved Puit Hottinguer...), hosts a multi-activity Base de loisirs (ideal for Kids) as well as a fishing pond (with picnic areas by the water) and offers many marked "green walks" including a nature trail with botanical path to discover the fauna & flora of the magnificent surrounding Countryside & Nature, just a stone's throw away (preserved gentle mountains alternating undulating bocage & vast forests).
