Charming authentic traditional 19th century character property, carefully converted into a comfortable holiday home, nestled in the heart of a picturesque Burgundy village bursting with charm, at the foot of a vast, untamed forest, just a stone's throw from the vineyards, 5 km from Saint-Gengoux-le-National, a delightful medieval, wine-growing & shopping village with the "Cités de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté" label ("Site Clunisien" / many local amenities including supermarket). Soothing, gentle, rolling Countryside (classified as a ZNIEFF), combining viticulture, nature & agriculture, nestled at the crossroads of the Mâconnais & Côtes Chalonnaises vineyards, in the green Grosne valley (protected as a Natura 2000 zone for its rich ecosystems), a magnificent, unspoiled setting of hedged meadows, rivers, vineyards & forests, not far from the wooded foothills of the South Burgundy Massif. Ultra-privileged Location on the routes of several "natural" hiking trails (complemented by a rich network of signposted "balades vertes" criss-crossing the area between vineyards & nature, to be explored on foot or mountain bike), the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne" (extended by the nearby "Route des Grands Vins") & the Romanesque church circuit, 2.5 km from the GR76, 4 km from the Voie Verte of the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" connected to the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de la Saône-et-Loire by bike), 13 km of a signposted cyclo itinerary serving the Voie Verte of the famous Canal du Centre (an itinerary you can also discover on bucolic boat trips) linked to the EuroVélo6 cycle route and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélos" (Tour of Burgundy by bike) & 14 km of the renowned GTM mountain bike route with "VTT FFC" accreditation (Grand Tour du Massif Sud-Bourgogne linked to a vast network of identical mountain bike trails criss-crossing the massif). Ideally located in the heart of southern Burgundy, at the crossroads of the Chalonnais, Tournugeois-Clunisois (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), Mâconnais, Bresse Bourguignonne & Charollais-Brionnais (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), splendidly preserved territories rich in sublime landscapes, renowned gastronomy and exceptional historical heritage (notably medieval & Romanesque). Ideal for exploring: 12 km from Taizé (& its famous religious community), 18 km from the medieval village of Brancion, 18 km from the medieval village of Mont-Saint-Vincent (one of the most beautiful sites in Burgundy, with a literally unique 360° panoramic "belvedere"), 21 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 26 km from Tournus, 32 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "City of Art and History"), 38 km from Charolles, 41 km from the sumptuous Roches de Solutré & Vergisson landscape jewel (Grand Site de France), 40 km from Le Creusot (renowned Les Combes amusement park / Creusot TGV station 30 km away), 44 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 42 km away), 51 km from Paray-le-Monial & 53 km from Louhans (capital of the Bresse region). An ideal "bubble" of serenity for a relaxing "green getaway" with family and friends alike! The name suits it perfectly!
