A picturesque, well-preserved medieval wine-growing village, brimming with charm (designated a “Station Verte de Vacances”), located on the ancient Roman Agrippa Road, Couches offers an exceptional heritage (including the sumptuous 13th-century castle of Marguerite de Bourgogne, Queen of France), numerous amenities, and a magnificent scenic setting, nestled in the heart of unspoiled wine-growing countryside within a bucolic valley blending vineyard-covered hillsides, wooded meadows, and beautiful wild forests (a ZNIEFF protected area). A very comfortable room with unique architecture (accessible via a superb historic “spiral staircase”) adjoining a small sitting area located in one of the building’s towers, designed in the style of a “mini suite.” Elegant contemporary charm enhanced by the setting’s truly exotic atmosphere (imposing original timber framing and stone lintels).
