A true haven of peace & quiet in a landscaped setting just a stone's throw from a small lake perfect for swimming! Authentic, elegant, traditional 18th-century residence - steeped in history & meticulously restored - nestled in the quiet, rolling countryside of the Haut Clunisois, in a small rural hamlet overlooking the verdant Valouzin valley, 5 km from the charming, typical village of Tramayes (small shops on site) & 13 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny (all amenities including supermarkets). Magnificent, unspoilt meadows nestled beneath the wooded ridges of a vast, untamed forest massif, in the foothills of the northern Beaujolais massif, at the foot of the "Signal de la Mère Boitier" (highest point in the Mâconnais at 702m), in the extension of the sumptuous, landscaped gem of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson, which has been awarded the "Grand Site de France" label (19 km away), bordering the superb vineyards of the renowned "Val Lamartinien" (first vines 12 km away) & the bucolic Grosne valley (the "Little Switzerland of the Mâconnais"), in the heart of the "Green Valleys of Southern Burgundy", a sublime setting of preserved gentle mountains combining vineyard slopes, verdant bocage & vast forests, protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for the quality of its rich ecosystems. Location ultra-privileged on the route of a signposted "balade verte" hiking trail connected to the GR76, which passes 3 km away (very rich network of similar hiking trails criss-crossing the territory, to be explored on foot or mountain bike), 9 km from the Voie Verte of the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" (and its remarkable "Tunnel du Bois Clair" 10 km away, France's longest former railway tunnel open to a Voie Verte with its 1.6 km), 12 km from the renowned GMT mountain bike itinerary (Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne / completed by a vast signposted mountain bike area criss-crossing the massif) & around 15 km from two referenced "loops coup de cœur vélos" (17 & 27 kms), close to the Romanesque church circuit & the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne". Prime location at the crossroads of the Clunisois-Tournugeois (a "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), the Mâconnais & the Haut Beaujolais (the world's first Vineyard to be recognized as a "UNESCO World Geopark"), close to the Charolais-Brionnais (a "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire") & the Bresse de l'Ain, as well as the Rhône & Ain départements. Ideal for easy access (RCEA access 8 km away): 17 km from the delightful shopping town of Matour, a "Station Verte de Vacances" (with numerous amenities and a remarkable level of leisure facilities), 26 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 25 km away), 29 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 31 km from the renowned Touroparc Zoo animal park, 35 km from La Clayette, 42 km from Charolles & 46 km from Tournus. A soothing bubble of charm & comfort for lovers to recharge their batteries, in the footsteps of the famous romantic poet Lamartine...
