Exceptional site and setting, literally magical & enchanting! Absolute peace & postcard landscapes! Delightful authentic early 19th-century sheepfold - steeped in history & carefully restored to the highest standards - nestled on a south-east-facing hillside in the heart of a sublime setting of nature & greenery, on the edge of meadows and forests, 3.5 km from the charming, typical market town of Matour (with its many amenities and remarkable level of leisure facilities). Sublime, unspoilt setting, nestled in the wooded foothills of the Montagne de Saint-Cyr (highest point in southern Burgundy), extending the Beaujolais massif and the neighbouring landscape gem of the Roche de Solutré, classified as a "Grand Site de France" (30 km away), in the heart of the Haut-Clunisois, a splendid, gently rolling mountainous region (partly classified as a Natura 2000 area). Prime location on several marked "balades verte" footpaths (connected to the nearby GR7) & mountain bike trails winding through the countryside, 9 km from an 88 km "boucle vélo coup de cœur" cycling route, 12 km from the Romanesque churches circuit, 23 km from the greenway, 30 km from the first vineyards of the Beaujolais & Côtes Mâconnaises and the wine routes (including the famous Val Lamartinien, named after the famous French poet and writer who was born here). An ultra-privileged location at the crossroads of the Rhône & Loire rivers, at the crossroads of the Charolais-Brionnais - cradle of the world-renowned AOC beef and sheep breeds - and the Mâconnais-Clunisois (both of which have the "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire" label), rich in breathtaking landscapes, renowned gastronomy and exceptional historical heritage, notably medieval and Romanesque. Ideal for exploring: 20 km from La Clayette, 26 km from Charolles, 27 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 32 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 39 km from Charlieu, 40 km from Mâcon (Mâcon TGV station 38 km away), 40 km from Paray-le-Monial & 52 km from Digoin (& its river marina linked to the Canal du Centre). An idyllic haven of peace for total relaxation, as if literally plunged "out of time", just a stone's throw from all amenities! A little corner of paradise for young and old!

Nadine & Michel open the doors to an authentic early 19th-century sheepfold, perfectly restored to the highest standards, nestled in the heart of nature like a literal Burgundian "chalet d'alpage" in a splendid unspoilt cirque of meadows & forests (the rare privilege of being able to observe wildlife on site), nestled beneath the wooded ridges of Mont Saint-Cyr, the highest point in southern Burgundy (a unique belvedere offering exceptional panoramic views as far as Mont-Blanc on a clear day!), just a stone's throw from a picturesque, peaceful hamlet. Total peace & quiet (with no opposite neighbors or close neighbors), curled up "on a balcony" on a south-east-facing hillside facing the bucolic Mâconnais & Clunisois mountains stretching as far as the eye can see. Exceptional setting and site, 100% relaxing & restful. A haven of peace and quiet that is literally magical and enchanting. Breathtaking panoramas & sumptuous landscapes. Spacious 1000m² sloping natural garden home to "Marcus" the owner's goat (kept on site) and a pleasant gravel terrace shaded by a hundred-year-old walnut tree. Comfortable gîte. Very spacious. Warm, neo-rustic country charm enhanced by meticulous heritage restoration (original stone & wood window lintels, stone walls, beams, framework, doors...). Enormous charm & character. The gentle, relaxing ambience of an old house steeped in history.

    superbe endroit
