A literal haven of peace & relaxation nestled on the slopes of Mont Saint-Cyr, the highest peak in Southern Burgundy at 771m! Charming authentic character stables steeped in history - dating back to the 18th century - completely revisited as a gentle holiday retreat, set in the peace and quiet of a lush, well-kept 3,000m² property, in a peaceful rural mini hamlet nestled on a southwest-facing hillside, 10 km from the "Station Verte de Vacances" shopping village of Matour (various small shops including a mini supermarket and a remarkable range of leisure facilities) & 12 km from La Clayette (numerous local amenities including supermarkets), a delightful village nestling amphitheatrically on the banks of a 30-hectare lake bordered by a majestic medieval château (dating from 1380), a veritable heritage gem in South Burgundy! Absolute tranquility in the heart of the rolling Charolais Countryside (protected as a ZNIEFF for its wealth of flora & fauna), nestling in a sublime bocage valley beneath the wooded crests of a vast wild forest massif (protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its remarkable ecosystems), a soothing, unspoilt setting of nature and greenery, bordering the Haut Clunisois and its "Verts Vallons" of southern Burgundy, the foothills of the Beaujolais massif and the bucolic Grosne valley (the "Little Switzerland of the Mâconnais"), not far from the iconic panoramic sentinel of the Butte de Suin (600m high). Privileged location on the route of several "balades vertes" hiking trails (a rich network of identical hiking trails criss-crossing the region, to be explored on foot or mountain bike) & the "Cycloroute71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), close to the Romanesque church circuit, 3 km from the GR7, 27 km from the Voie Verte of the "Grande boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" (& the remarkable "Tunnel du Bois Clair", France's longest former railway tunnel open to a Voie Verte at 1.6 km) and around 30 km from the vineyards of Beaujolais (the first vineyard in the world to be recognized as a UNESCO World Geopark) and Côtes Mâconnaises (including the famous "Val Lamartinien" / "Route des Vins de Bourgogne" to explore). At the crossroads of Charolais-Brionnais, a land of livestock breeding & traditions (home of the world-renowned AOC beef breed) & Clunisois-Tournugeois (both "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire"), at the crossroads of the Mâconnais, Beaujolais, Rhône & Loire departments. Ideal for touring: 21 km from Charolles, 30 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 32 km from Charlieu, 33 km from Paray-le-Monial, 35 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 37 km from Marcigny ("site clunisien" famous for its Monday morning Market created in 1266), 41 km from the sumptuous landscaped jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labelled "Grand Site de France", 47 km from Digoin (river Marina connected to the Canal du Centre & the "quiet canal" linking Digoin to Roanne), 44 km from Mâcon (Mâcon TGV station 43 km away) & 53 km from Roanne. The perfect "pied à terre" for all nature lovers, the ideal spot for a timeless break, for lovers and families alike!
