Stay in a building steeped in history! Authentic, lovingly restored 17th-century presbytery with character - featuring an intimate, delightful "panoramic" walled garden - nestled in the heart of a peaceful, picturesque Haut Mâconnais village on a southwest-facing hillside, 1.5 km from Taizé (& its famous religious community) and 2.5 km from the charming, typical market town of Cormatin (sumptuous 17th-century château and numerous local amenities). Superbly landscaped setting in the heart of the Cluny countryside - a magnificent natural setting of rolling hills, bocages, vineyards, meadows & forests - in a protected area classified as a "Natura 2000" zone for its remarkable ecosystem. Ultra-privileged location next to the wine route, at the crossroads of the Mâconnais & Côtes Chalonnaises vineyards (first vineyards 5 km away), on the Romanesque church circuit & several hiking trails marked out as "balade verte" (many similar trails to discover in the surrounding area), 1 km from the voie verte & 2 "boucle vélo coup de cœur" cycling routes (24 & 27 kms), 5 km from the GR76 (Saint-Jacques de Compostelle connected to the historic "Chemin des Moines") and 7 km from the renowned GMT mountain bike route (Grand Tour du Massif sud Bourgogne). Right in the heart of the Tournugeois-Clunisois (classified as a "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), at the crossroads of the Mâconnais, Chalonnais and Bresse Bourguignonne regions, these varied territories boast sublime landscapes, renowned gastronomy & a literally exceptional historical heritage (notably medieval and Romanesque). An ideal location for exploring the whole of southern Burgundy: 14 km from the charming medieval town of Brancion, 14 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 25 km from Tournus (A6 on site), 35 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 33 km away), 37 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "Ville d'Art et d'Histoire"), 39 km from Charolles, 48 km from Le Creusot (& its famous Combes amusement park / TGV station 41 km away), 50 km from Louhans, 53 km from La Clayette & 54 km from Paray-le-Monial. The ideal refuge for nature & culture lovers!

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.

Belgian by birth & Burgundian by adoption, France opens the doors to an authentic 17th-century presbytery steeped in history & carefully restored to its former glory (linked to the majestic listed 11th-century Romanesque church opposite the gîte), nestling on a south-west facing hillside above the peaceful village of Ameugny. Nestled on a hillside overlooking the verdant, bucolic Grosne valley and the superb Cluny bocage, just a stone's throw from the first vineyards and close to the wooded foothills of the southern Burgundy Massif, this picturesque, peaceful little village typical of the Haut Mâconnais region boasts a rich heritage (Romanesque church, traditional winegrowers' houses with Mâconnais galleries, washhouses, fountains...) & beautiful rolling countryside, a succession of meadows, vineyards, ponds, hedged farmland & forests. Spacious, comfortable gîte. Spacious living room (good volume). Charming country style with a refined "bourgeois" feel, enhanced by careful heritage restoration (original stone lintels, elegant fireplace mantel, French ceiling, beams & framework, stone walls, terracotta floor tiles...). Lots of charm & character. Very cosy. Delightful enclosed garden planted with trees (plums, apples, pears, figs, raspberries...), spacious & intimate, tucked away from view behind historic dry-stone walls (with a notable "listed" multi-century gateway). Large, exposed terrace offering splendid panoramic views of the surrounding countryside & mountains.
Composition: Gîte adjoining the owners' home (total independence). Wifi access. Oil-fired central heating. Ground floor: kitchen, living room. 1st floor: TV lounge on landing, 2 bedrooms (2 beds 160x200cm / 2 beds 1 p. 90x200cm), bathroom (bath), separate toilet. Enclosed garden + private terrace. Bike shed. Easy public parking in front of the gîte. Amenities 2.5 km.

    Sehr stilvoll
