A truly exceptional address! Stay on a "Site Clunisien" steeped in great history, at the foot of the remains of the emblematic & majestic fortified Romanesque church of Saint-Hippolyte, Burgundy's heritage jewel dating from the 11th century! Charming gîte nestled in an authentic medieval outbuilding (once linked to the priory that occupied the site), elegantly restored to the highest standards - with a pleasant, carefully landscaped walled garden - in a quiet location 6.5 km from the charming market town of Cormatin (sumptuous 17th-century château & numerous local amenities) & 9 km from the medieval village of Saint-Gengoux-le-National, a "Cités de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté" (supermarket on site). In the heart of a peaceful & picturesque little residential hamlet in the Haut Mâconnais region, nestled in the rolling Cluny countryside (largely protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" & ZNIEFF for its remarkable ecosystems), in the verdant Gyue valley, a splendidly preserved setting combining bucolic hedged farmland, vineyards, meadows & beautiful wild forests, bordering the wooded foothills of the nearby Massif Sud Bourgogne. Ultra-privileged location at the crossroads of the Mâconnais & Côtes Chalonnaises vineyards, ideally situated on the route of the Romanesque church circuit, marked "balades vertes" footpaths (a vast network of paths of the same type to be explored on foot or mountain bike in the area), the GR76 & a referenced 27 km "boucle vélo coup de cœur" (a 24 km identical itinerary accessible at 4.5 km), 4 km from the Voie Verte of the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" (adjoining the "Cycloroute71", Tour de la Saône-et-Loire by bike) & 10 km from the renowned GMT mountain bike trail (Grand Tour du Massif sud Bourgogne linked to a vast network of signposted mountain bike trails, certified "VTT FFC" criss-crossing the massif), right next to the "Route des Vins de Bourgogne", which is extended by the "Route des Grands Vins". A prime location in the heart of the Tournugeois-Clunisois (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), at the crossroads of the Mâconnais, Chalonnais & Charolais-Brionnais (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire", cradle of the world-renowned AOC bovine). Ideal for touring: 9 km from Taizé (& its famous religious community), 16 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 18 km from the medieval town of Brancion, 22 km from the medieval village of Mont-Saint-Vincent (& its 360° panoramic "belvedere" unique in Burgundy), 27 km from Tournus (A6 on site), 35 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "Ville d'Art et d'Histoire"), 36 km from Charolles, 37 km from the landscaped jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labelled "Grand Site de France", 38 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station 37 km away), 43 km from Le Creusot (renowned Parc d'attraction des Combes & TGV station 38 km away) & 49 km from the "sacred heart" city of Paray-le-Monial. An ideal & ultra-comfortable "cocoon" full of charm for a rejuvenating "green getaway" for lovers and families alike! A 100% change of scenery, absolutely magical...

Jacques & Patricia open the doors to an elegant, authentic medieval house of character, fully restored to the highest standards, nestled on a property steeped in history (once a "dependency" of the priory & "doyenné" that occupied the premises / agricultural estate linked to the Abbey of Cluny), adjoining the remains of the emblematic & majestic 11th-century fortified Romanesque church of Saint-Hippolyte, one of the very first of its kind built in Burgundy ("Site Clunisien" classified MH, "candidate" for UNESCO World Heritage listing), a literally exceptional edifice & true heritage gem. Quiet, on the edge of a lane, in the heart of a picturesque little rural residential hamlet, nestled in the rolling Clunis countryside in the green valley of the Guye (& its fish-filled river), a sublime landscaped setting protected in Zone Natura 2000 & ZNIEFF for its wealth of flora & fauna (including the nearby Monts site & its typical Burgundy "limestone lawns"). Extremely comfortable gîte. Ultra spacious. Vast panoramic living room bathed in light. Charming "bourgeois" country chic style, enhanced by the soul of the original building (stone walls, wooden beams & lintels, stone fireplace mantel, rafters...). Cosy & refined atmosphere. DFMB Remarquable
