A true haven of peace and relaxation! A charming, authentic, fully restored 19th-century farmhouse—featuring a pleasant, enclosed lot—nestled quietly in a peaceful, scattered rural hamlet, right in the heart of the local bucolic countryside, 5 km from the charming medieval town of Charolles (the “Venice of Charolais”), the famous birthplace of Charles the Bold (“Cluniac Site” offering numerous amenities, including supermarkets as well as extensive sports and recreational facilities). Absolute tranquility in the heart of the gentle Charolais countryside (partly protected as a ZNIEFF for its rich ecosystems), blending agriculture and unspoiled nature among gentle hedgerow meadows dotted with ponds and rivers and beautiful wild forests, nestled between the lush Arconce Valley and the first wooded foothills of the Beaujolais Massif (partly protected as a “Natura 2000” site). A prime location along the Romanesque Church Trail and several marked hiking trails, including nearby “green walks” (a vast network of similar hiking trails crisscrossing the region, suitable for walking or mountain biking), 3 km from a Greenway (connecting to Charolles), 14 km from the “Cycloroute 71” route (the Saône-et-Loire cycling tour), 15 km from the Canal du Centre Greenway (which runs alongside the EuroVélo6 cycle route, as well as the “Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo”) and connects to the "Véloire" Greenway running alongside the famous Canal du Centre and the Loire (Europe’s last “wild river,” protected as a “Natura 2000” site), 17 km from a marked mountain bike trail certified “VTT-FFC” (connected to a vast network of similar trails crisscrossing the region), about 40 km from the first Vineyards of the Mâconnais region and about 50 km from the Beaujolais region, the world’s first Vineyard region recognized as a “UNESCO Global Geopark” (the “Burgundy Wine Route” and “Beaujolais Wine Route” are worth exploring). A prime location in the very heart of the Charolais-Brionnais region (designated a “Pays d’Art & d’Histoire”), a land of livestock farming and traditions, the birthplace of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed, at the crossroads of the Clunisois region (both designated "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire"), the Mâconnais, the Tournugeois-Clunisois (designated "Pays d'Art & d'Histoire"), and the Beaujolais—regions rich in breathtaking landscapes, renowned cuisine, and a truly exceptional historical heritage. Ideal for exploring the surrounding area: 18 km from Paray-le-Monial (home of the “Sacré-Cœur”), 19 km from La Clayette, 31 km from Digoin (a Marina connected to the Canal du Centre and the “Canal Tranquille,” which links Digoin to Roanne), 34 km from Marcigny (“Cluniac site” famous for its Monday morning Market, established in 1266), 34 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, which holds the very rare “Most Beautiful Villages of France” designation, 39 km from Charlieu, 37 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 50 km from Beaujeu (the historic capital of the Beaujolais region), 50 km from the magnificent natural gem of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson, designated a “Grand Site de France,” and 52 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché TGV station is 51 km away). The perfect “home away from home” for a refreshing and rejuvenating “green getaway” at an affordable price!

Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.
Michelle & Jean-François welcome you to a delightful, traditional 19th-century farmhouse with character, completely renovated & refurbished as a holiday home, nestled in the calm, unspoilt Charolais Countryside on a gently undulating, south-facing plateau, in the heart of a "dispersed" rural hamlet, 3 kms from the center of the charming, typical village of Celtic origin, Vendenesse-lès-Charolles, with its exceptional heritage (rare "fours à chaux" (lime kilns), unique in France and listed as Historic Monuments, beautiful listed 11th-century Roman church, 16th-century château...). Absolutely tranquil, unoverlooked, nestled in the bucolic local wooded bocage dotted with ponds & rivers (with the famous Charolais cows, grazing peacefully, as close neighbors in season), not far from beautiful wild forests. A soothing, beautifully landscaped setting. Ultra-restful & relaxing setting, literally enchanting. Spacious, comfortable Holiday cottage. Exotic country charm with a vintage feel. Large enclosed grounds (home to the owners' sheep parked on site in the spirit of a "micro-farm"), featuring a vast gravel courtyard (perfect "natural" petanque pitch), an exposed terrace ("sur cour"), a pleasant flower-filled garden with orchard (featuring a relaxation area & sandpit for the Kids) & a lush "organic" vegetable garden (vegetables & flowers can be picked). Splendid unobstructed views over the surrounding Countryside & rolling pastures stretching as far as the eye can see. Magnificent scenery.
Composition: Detached house on one level (+ outbuildings). Wifi connection. Oil heating. Ground floor: living room-kitchen (sofa bed 2 p. 140x190cm), 2 bedrooms (1 bed 2 p. 140x190cm / 2 beds 1 p. 90x190cm), bathroom (shower), separate WC. Enclosed grounds of 300m² (small garden + courtyard) + gravel terrace (on courtyard) + bike room + private parking. Amenities & supermarkets 5 km away.
