Exceptional renaissance-style historic building nestled in a sublime country setting! A rare authentic 16th-century "maison forte" of character - a former "relais de chasse" steeped in great history, completely revisited as an ultra-exciting resort with en-suite bedrooms - nestled in the peace and quiet of a vast, well-kept enclosed property, in the heart of a rural & agricultural mini-hamlet, 12 km from Paray-le-Monial, the famous "Sacré Coeur" sanctuary & 15 km from the charming medieval & shopping town of Charolles, the "Venice of Charolais", famous city of Charles the Bold (both cities offering a wide range of amenities, including supermarkets and a wealth of sports & leisure facilities). Total tranquility in the rolling Brionnais Countryside, a mix of agriculture and nature, nestled in the bucolic local bocage dotted with woods, ponds & rivers, just a stone's throw from an area protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its rich ecosystems, as well as beautiful wild forests. Privileged location on the route of the Romanesque churches & several marked "balades vertes" hiking trails (connected to a vast network of identical hiking and mountain-biking trails), 2 km from a marked "VTT-FFC" mountain-biking itinerary (linked to a vast network of similar routes criss-crossing the region), 12 km from the "Voie Verte Véloire" along the banks of the Loire (Europe's last wild river protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone"), 12 km from the "Cycloroute71" (tour of the Saône-et-Loire region), 12 km from the EuroVélo6 cycle route linked to the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo", and some 50 km from the first vineyards of the Beaujolais (first vineyard in the world to be recognized as a UNESCO World Geopark), Côtes Roannaises and Côtes Maconnaises ("Route des Vins de Bourgogne" & "Route des Vins du Beaujolais" to explore). At the southern tip of Burgundy, not far from the first wooded foothills of the Monts du Beaujolais, right in the heart of the superb Charolais-Brionnais region, which has been awarded the "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" label - cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed - at the crossroads of the Allier, Loire & Rhône departments, at the crossroads of the Sologne & Bourbonnaise Mountains, the Pays Roannais, the Mâconnais-Clunisois and the Beaujolais. A perfect location for visiting several départements: 12 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France, literally a show dedicated to the local Charolais star!), 18 km from La Clayette, 20 km from Marcigny (famous Monday morning market established in 1266), 20 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais, awarded the rare "Plus beaux villages de France" label, 23 km from Digoin (river Marina nestled at the convergence of 3 renowned canals, including the famous Canal du Centre), 33 km from the "Plus Beaux Détours de France" town of Charlieu, 49 km from Roanne, 55 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny & 58 km from the famous PAL theme park. An ideal "pied à terre" for a relaxing green getaway, with your tribe literally immersed "out of time"! Total change of scenery guaranteed!

The Mathieu family, who have owned the property for a century, welcome you to a rare authentic 16th-century "maison forte" of character, fully restored, an exceptional Renaissance-style edifice, perfectly preserved and steeped in history. A former "relais de chasse" (hunting lodge) of the Lord of Busseuil (who once brought together the lords of the Brionnais region for great hunts), it is set in a "star shape" with several outbuildings around a large courtyard, a perfect "natural petanque ground". Total tranquility in a small rural hamlet (residential & agricultural) nestled in unspoilt Countryside on a sublime plateau of rolling bocage (with peaceful Charolais cows as close neighbors), crossed by a bucolic river full of fish, close to a beautiful wild Forest. A true haven of 100% relaxation, immersed in a literal "postcard setting". Comfortable Holiday cottage. Ultra spacious. Beautiful volumes. Warm, country "bourgeois" feel, with a touch of vintage, mixed with the Unusual "châtelaine" atmosphere of the premises (masterly stone fireplace mantel & spiral staircase, vaulted ceilings, beams, French ceiling, engraved stone lintels etc.). Large gravel terrace (naturally shaded) opens onto a pleasant lawned garden with trees (swing & ping-pong table). Superb unobstructed view of the surrounding Countryside.
