A peaceful little spot in the Countryside close to all amenities! An elegant, characterful “bourgeois” home (built in 1990) nestled in a quiet setting on the edge of meadows—on a beautiful, enclosed 1,800 m² property —in a peaceful, charming little village perched on a gentle hill, 3 km from the picturesque medieval town of Mont-Saint-Vincent, which sits like a lookout point on the eponymous mountain (offering an exceptional 360° panoramic view from its summit spanning 14 departments, from Mont Blanc to Puy de Dôme!) and 9 km from Montceau-les-Mines, a historic mining town nestled on the banks of the famous Canal du Centre, now fully dedicated to cultural and outdoor activities (all amenities, a Marina, a Golf course, and a vast Lake to explore on site). Complete tranquility in the heart of Montceau’s bucolic, rolling countryside (protected as a ZNIEFF and various “Natura 2000” zones for its exceptionally rich ecosystems) nestled in a preserved, idyllic setting that blends nature and agriculture—featuring large lakes and ponds, wooded landscapes, rivers, and vast wild forests, neighboring the lush Guye Valley, about 20 km from the junction of the Côtes Mâconnaises and Côtes Chalonnaises vineyards—through which the “Route des Vins de Bourgogne” and the “Route des Grands Vins,” and about 40 km from the world-renowned Vineyards of the Côtes de Beaune and Hautes Côtes de Beaune (the illustrious “Route des Grands Crus” passing through the legendary wine-growing villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Meursault…). An exceptionally prime location along the Romanesque church trail and various marked “nature” hiking trails, including a designated “green trail” (there is a very extensive network of similar hiking trails in the area, suitable for walking or mountain biking), 3 km from the GR7 (connected to the GR76), 9 km from the Canal du Centre Greenway (a waterway route also worth exploring on relaxing boat trips), adjacent to the EuroVélo6 cycle route as well as the “Tour de Bourgogne à vélo” and 22 km from the “Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud” Greenway, connected to the “Cycloroute 71” (Tour de la Saône-et-Loire by Bike). A prime central location in the very heart of southern Burgundy, at the border of southern Chalonnais and northern Charolais-Brionnais (designated a “Pays d’Art et d’Histoire,” the birthplace of the world-renowned AOC), at the crossroads of the Tournugeois-Clunisois region (designated a “Pays d’Art et d’Histoire”), the Autunois-Morvan region, and the Mâconnais region. Ideal for exploring the surrounding area (direct access to the RCEA highway, 10 km away): 22 km from Saint-Gengoux-le-National (designated a “Cité de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté”), 24 km from Le Creusot (home to the renowned Les Combes amusement park / Le Creusot TGV station 17 km away), 31 km from Diverti’Parc (a family-friendly nature-themed recreation area, one of a kind in Burgundy), 33 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 33 km from Charolles, 39 km from the famous Paldenshangpa Buddhist temple, 40 km from the “City of the Sacred Heart” of Paray-le-Monial, 45 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (designated a “City of Art and History”), 45 km from Tournus, 47 km from Autun (designated a “City of Art and History” and home to an exceptional heritage spanning over 2,000 years of human history), 49 km from Digoin (a Marina nestled at the confluence of three canals), 54 km from the magnificent natural gem of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson, designated a “Grand Site de France,” and 57 km from Mâcon. A comfortable retreat for a “getaway in the countryside” offering plenty to discover and do—perfect even for a business trip!

An elegant, characterful “bourgeois” villa (built in 1990) nestled in a quiet setting on the edge of a vast plateau of wooded meadows (home to peaceful cows in season), just a stone’s throw from a majestic 11th-century Romanesque church (a Burgundian heritage gem listed as a Historic Monument), right in the heart of a charming, typical little village. Perched on a “panoramic promontory” atop a gentle hill overlooking the beautiful surrounding countryside, at the location of a Gallo-Roman fortress followed by a Benedictine priory dating back to the 6th century (as attested by a fabulous treasure known as the “Gourdon Treasure”, discovered in 1845 by a young shepherdess in a field adjacent to the holiday cottage, now partly preserved in Paris at the Museum of the National Library of France), and ranking among the oldest villages in the Saône-et-Loire department, Gourdon is set in a magnificent, unspoiled natural setting (protected as a ZNIEFF and various “Natura 2000” sites for its rich flora and fauna), combining agriculture and unspoiled nature amid wooded countryside, numerous large lakes and ponds (several of which are equipped for Swimming and water sports), and beautiful, unspoiled forests, not far from the first Vineyards of the Mâconnais region (the nearest Vineyards are just about 15 km away). A very comfortable holiday cottage. Extremely spacious. Large living area featuring a beautiful “cathedral ceiling” in part, enhanced by an authentic, majestic mantelpiece from an 18th-century château. Warm, “bourgeois” country charm with a touch of “vintage” flair. A cozy, opulent, and refined atmosphere in a beautiful, exotic home with an “eighties” vibe. Lots of charm and character. A vast, sun-exposed and shaded (depending on the weather) terrace opens onto a beautiful courtyard—literally a “natural pétanque court”—nestled within a pleasant, enclosed property, carefully landscaped with lawns, plants, and trees (cherry, apple, and mirabelle plum trees… / Picking available during your stay), enjoying a superb unobstructed view of the bucolic, rolling Montcellian countryside with the famous city of Le Creusot as a backdrop (a city with a prestigious industrial past and home to the Schneider dynasty).
Layout: Detached house. Oil heating. Wi-Fi. Duplex holiday cottage on 2 levels (with a half-level). Ground floor: open-concept living room-kitchen-dining area, gaming room and library (pool table & elliptical trainer), bathroom (bathtub), separate toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms (double bed 140x190 cm / 1 double bed 140x190cm + 1 single bed 90x190cm / double bed 140x190cm), mezzanine landing with office area, bathroom (corner bathtub), shower room (shower/toilet), separate toilet.
