A charming, authentic, traditional 19th-century farmhouse that has been fully restored—featuring a large enclosed courtyard and a lovely 600-square-meter garden set slightly off to the side — nestled in a quiet setting just a stone’s throw from the vineyards, on a site steeped in history, within a peaceful, typical rural hamlet, 5 km from the charming wine-growing village of Lugny ("the little capital of the Haut-Mâconnais," featuring numerous shops, a renowned "tree-top adventure park," and the leading producer of Burgundy wines) and 11 km from Tournus (a world-renowned abbey site / A6 highway & all amenities nearby). Nestled in the gentle Mâconnais wine-growing countryside (within a protected area designated as a Natura 2000 site and ZNIEFF for its rich ecosystems), “on the lands” of the legendary “Chardonnay” grape variety, a magnificent rolling landscape combining vineyard-covered hillsides, idyllic meadows, and beautiful forests, nestled at the foot of the wooded foothills of the nearby Southern Burgundy Massif (a vast wilderness to explore on foot or by mountain bike) in the heart of the Saône Valley (with the riverbanks just a short distance away). An exceptionally prime location along the routes of the Romanesque Churches Circuit and the renowned GTM mountain biking circuit, certified “VTT FFC” (Grand Tour of the Southern Burgundy Massif, connected to a vast network of similar trails crisscrossing the massif in a “star” pattern) and marked hiking trails linked to several “green walks” (numerous hiking trails of this kind winding through Vineyards and the great outdoors, waiting to be explored in the area), very close to the “Burgundy Wine Route” (which is extended by the “Route des Grands Vins”), 5 km from the Voie Bleue running along the banks of the Saône, adjacent to the Voie Verte of the “Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud,” 5.5 km from a marked cycling route leading to the charming market town of Pont de Vaux and its river Marina (connected to the Saône), 9 km from the GR76, which connects to the famous GR “Chemin de Cluny” (ViaCluny) as well as the legendary “Chemin des Moines” (which once connected the abbeys of Cîteaux and Cluny), 10 km from the “Cycloroute 71” (Tour de la Saône-et-Loire by bike) and 12 km from the renowned downhill mountain bike trail at Mont Saint-Romain. A prime location in the heart of the Mâconnais region and its famous Vineyards, at the crossroads of the Ain, the Tournugeois-Clunisois (designated a “Pays d’Art et d’Histoire”), the Chalonnais and the Bresse Bourguignonne, not far from the Vineyards of the Côtes Chalonnaises and the Beaujolais, as well as the Côtes de Beaune and Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Ideal for exploring the surrounding area: 12 km from the La Salle Golf course, 13 km from the renowned Azé Caves, 14 km from the medieval town of Brancion, 18 km from the unique Truchère Nature Reserve (a remarkable protected ecosystem), 19 km from Cuisery, listed among France’s very exclusive 8 “Villages du Livre,” 23 km from Mâcon (Mâcon Loché train station is 26 km away), 25 km from the medieval village of Romenay, 25 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 30 km from the medieval town of Saint-Gengoux-le-National, designated a “Cité de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté,” 32 km from the magnificent natural gem of the Roches de Solutré and Vergisson, designated a “Grand Site de France,” 39 km from Vonnas (Georges Blanc’s gastronomic and culinary village), 39 km from Louhans (the historic capital of the Bresse region), 40 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (designated a “City of Art and History”), 41 km from “Hameau Dubœuf” (Europe’s first theme park dedicated to Vineyards and Wine) and 49 km from Bourg-en-Bresse. A relaxing “retreat” nestled between Vineyards and the great outdoors, following in the footsteps of the famous “Knights Templar”…

Élodie and Fabien (breeders of Charolais and Montbéliarde cattle and producers of goat cheese / a family-run farm located right nearby in the hamlet / direct sales and tours available) welcome you to a charming, authentic, and fully restored 19th-century traditional farmhouse, nestled in a quiet spot just a stone’s throw from the vineyards, in the heart of a peaceful, typical little hamlet (both residential and agricultural), home to the listed medieval site of the “Temple of Saint Catherine,” a former “Templar commandery” steeped in history (a remarkable 13th-century medieval architectural complex classified as a Historic Monument, consisting of a main house and a chapel / now privately owned). Peace and tranquility in the heart of the gentle, rolling Mâcon countryside, blending nature, agriculture, and viticulture (protected as a Natura 2000 site and ZNIEFF for its rich flora and fauna), nestled within a bucolic, unspoiled landscape that blends Vineyard-covered hillsides, wooded meadows, and beautiful wild forests, situated “on the lands” of the legendary “Chardonnay” grape variety (Viré Clessé appellation) at the foot of Mount Burgy (a preserved mountain range offering an exceptional panoramic view of the Jura Mountains, the Bresse Plain, and all the way to Mont Blanc on clear days!), very close to the banks of the Saône River (which you can explore on foot, by bike, or during relaxing boat rides). A spacious and comfortable holiday cottage. A refined contemporary style that harmonizes with the charming, rustic character of an old country home (original walls, lintels, and the beautiful stone staircase have been preserved, as have the unique “bull’s-eye” windows…) in a soothing, Zen-like atmosphere of “gentle simplicity.” Large enclosed courtyard featuring a spacious sun-exposed terrace (shaded in the late afternoon), complemented by a very pleasant 600m² garden with lawn and trees (cherry and plum trees—picking available during your stay), nestled on the edge of a lovely little vineyard.
Layout: Holiday cottage in a semi-detached village house comprising the owners’ residence + a unit rented year-round (completely separate). Wi-Fi (fiber). TV (with “Canal+” package). Gas heating. Duplex holiday cottage on two levels. Ground floor: kitchen, living room (2-person sofa bed, 140x180 cm, as an extra bed). First floor: 2 bedrooms (1 double bed, 160x200 cm / 2 single beds, 90x190cm), one of which opens onto a small mezzanine overlooking the stairwell (architectural feature: direct “doorless” access from the bedroom), bathroom (tub/toilet). Enclosed courtyard (terrace) + garden (600 m²) slightly “set back” (across a small road from the holiday cottage—safe to cross) + bike storage + private parking. Small shops 5 km away. Supermarket 9.5 km away.
