Country farmhouse dating from the late 19th century, lovingly restored in a contemporary style, nestled in the heart of the unspoilt Brionnais Countryside in a peaceful rural hamlet perched on a hilltop overlooking the picturesque village of Le Bois-Sainte-Marie ("Site Clunisien", steeped in charm & history), 6 km from the delightful shopping town of La Clayette (many amenities on site, including supermarkets), nestling amphitheatrically on the shores of a 30-hectare lake bordered by a majestic medieval château (dating from 1380), one of the jewels of South Burgundy's heritage. A soothingly landscaped setting, immersed in the heart of the bucolic rolling local bocage dotted with rivers & ponds, a stone's throw from a beautiful wild Forest protected as a ZNIEFF, not far from Mont Saint-Cyr (South Burgundy's highest point at 771m), nestled between the verdant Arconce valley & the first wooded foothills of the Beaujolais massif (partly protected as a "Zone Natura 2000"). Ultra-privileged location on the routes of the Romanesque church circuit, marked hiking trails including a "balade verte" (a vast network of similar hiking trails criss-crossing the region, to be explored on foot or mountain bike) & the "Cycloroute71" (cycling tour of Saône-et-Loire), 11 km from the GR7, 13 km from a marked mountain bike route with "VTT-FFC" certification (linked to a vast network of similar routes criss-crossing the Brionnais region), 23 km of the "Voie Verte du Canal du Centre" linked to EuroVélo6 and the "Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo", 27 km of the "Voie Verte Véloire" along the banks of the Loire (Europe's last wild river, protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone"), about 40 km from the first vineyards of the Côtes Mâconnaises & Beaujolais, the world's first UNESCO Geopark ("Route des Vins de Bourgogne" & various Routes des Vins du Beaujolais to discover) and about 50 km from the Côtes Roannaises. At the southern tip of Burgundy, in the heart of the superb Charolais-Brionnais region, which has been awarded the "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" label, a land of livestock farming and ultra-reputable traditions, rich in sumptuous landscapes and an exceptional historical heritage, cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed, at the crossroads of the Allier, Loire & Rhône departments, at the crossroads of the Clunisois-Tournugeois ("Pays d'Art et d'Histoire" label), Mâconnais, Beaujolais, Pays Roannais and Sologne & Mountain Bourbonnaise. 17 km from Charolles, 18 km from Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais & its iconic weekly "Market aux Bestiaux" dating from the late 15th century (one of the oldest in France), 26 km from Charlieu, 27 km from Paray-le-Monial, 26 km from the medieval village of Semur-en-Brionnais awarded the rare "Plus beaux villages de France" label, 30 km from Marcigny (famous Monday morning Market created in 1266), 40 km from Digoin (river Marina), 41 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais), 44 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny, 47 km from Roanne, 47 km from the sumptuous landscape jewel of the Roches de Solutré & Vergisson labelled "Grand Site de France" & 54 km from the Mâcon Loché TGV station. An ideal "pied à terre" for a relaxing "green getaway" with the family!

Martine & Philippe (breeders of Charolais & Aubrac cows) welcome you to a "family" farmhouse dating from the end of the 19th century, completely renovated in a contemporary style (with high-quality exterior insulation for cool comfort in summer), nestled in a quiet rural hamlet (agricultural & residential) perched on a gentle hillside overlooking the village (backed by a soothing lake), a remarkable fortified mini-bourgette, full of charm & character, with beautiful, perfectly restored 16th-century residences & an elegant, listed 11th-century Romanesque church enthroned at its heart. Total tranquility in the rolling Brionnais Countryside, a mix of agriculture and nature, nestled on the edge of meadows in the bucolic local bocage dotted with ponds, a stone's throw from a beautiful wild Forest protected as a ZNIEFF for its wealth of flora & fauna, and 2.5 km from the sumptuous Château de Drée dating from 1650 (listed MH) with its sublime 10-hectare French park, a marvel of plant architecture featuring a sublime rose garden.
