Great comfort & magnificent landscaped setting perched on a hillside on a site steeped in history! Charming authentic 18th-century farmhouse with character, fully restored to the highest standards - flanked by a small traditional residence of the same period - nestled in a peaceful setting on the edge of meadows in the wooded foothills of a vast wild Forest, on the edge of a picturesque rural hamlet, 4 km from the typical market town of Salornay-sur-Guye (mini-market on site) & 14 km from the illustrious abbey town of Cluny with its prestigious "European Heritage" label (all amenities on site). Total tranquility in the gentle, rolling Countryside of Cluny, with its mix of agriculture, viticulture & nature (much of it protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for its rich ecosystems), nestled between the verdant Grosne & Guye valleys, in the heart of a magnificently preserved setting combining bucolic bocages dotted with rivers & ponds, beautiful forests & vineyard hillsides, not far from the iconic panoramic sentinel of the Butte de Suin (culminating at 600m altitude), as well as the massifs of southern Burgundy & northern Beaujolais. Location on the route of the Romanesque church circuit & numerous signposted "balades vertes" hiking trails (a rich network of similar hiking and mountain bike trails in the area), 7 km from the GR7 linked to the GR76, 12 km from the Voie Verte of the "Grande Boucle de Bourgogne du Sud" linked to the "Cycloroute 71" (Tour de Saône-et-Loire by bike), 14 km of the renowned GTM mountain-bike trail ("Grand Tour du Massif Sud Bourgogne" linked to a vast network of signposted mountain-bike trails criss-crossing the massif, with "VTT FFC" certification), ten kms or so from the first vineyards of the Mâconnais, about twenty kms from the Côtes Chalonnaises & forty kms from Beaujolais (the world's first vineyard to be recognized as a UNESCO World Geopark) and the various wine routes ("Route des Vins de Bourgogne" extended by the "Route des Grands Vins"). In the very heart of southern Burgundy, on the borders of the Clunisois-Tournugeois region (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"), at the crossroads of the Mâconnais, Chalonnais and Charolais-Brionnais regions, cradle of the world-renowned AOC cattle breed (labelled "Pays d'Art et d'Histoire"). Ideal for touring: 13 km from Taizé (famous religious community), 18 km from Saint-Gengoux-le-National (with the "Cités de Caractère de Bourgogne-Franche-Comté" label), 22 km from the medieval village of Mont-Saint-Vincent (one of Burgundy's most beautiful sites, with a literally unique 360° panoramic "belvedere"), 25 km from the medieval village of Brancion, 26 km from Charolles, 34 km from Tournus, 35 km from the magnificent landscape of Roche de Solutré, a "Grand Site de France", 37 km from Mâcon (TGV stations: Mâcon Loché 36 km / Creusot 39 km), 39 km from Paray-le-Monial, 45 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (labeled "City of Art and History") & 45 km from Beaujeu (historic capital of Beaujolais). An ultra-comfortable "cocoon" bursting with charm, perfect for a relaxing "green getaway" with the whole family!
