Stay just a stone's throw from the vineyards and the magnificent Château de Couches—known as "the castle of Marguerite of Burgundy, Queen of France"—built in the 13th century! An authentic, fully restored 18th-century farmhouse—set in a magnificent, immaculately maintained 2,000-square-meter “park” — nestled in the heart of a peaceful, typical residential hamlet, 2 km from the picturesque medieval market town of Couches, designated a “Station Verte de Vacances” (with numerous local amenities, including a small supermarket). Peace and quiet nestled in a bucolic wooded valley, within a small Forest, just a stone’s throw from vineyards and meadows. In the heart of the gentle, rolling wine-growing countryside of the Couchois region (protected as a ZNIEFF and various “Natura 2000” zones for its rich ecosystems), at the gateway to the Morvan Natural Park—a bucolic landscape blending vineyard-covered hillsides, wooded landscapes, and beautiful wild forests, neighboring the sumptuous Vaux Valley (“the little Switzerland of the Chalonnais”) and the famous “Val d’Or” of Mercurey (the flagship of the Côte Chalonnaise wines, one of France’s oldest AOCs), at the crossroads of the world-renowned Vineyards of the Côtes Chalonnaises, the Côtes de Beaune and Hautes Côtes de Beaune, and very close to Mont Rome, the region’s highest peak at 546m (a major rock-climbing site and viewpoint renowned for its exceptional view stretching from the Saône to the Autunois region). An exceptionally prime location along the Romanesque Churches Trail and the “Route des Grands Vins” (which extends into the illustrious “Route des Grands Crus,” passing through the legendary wine-growing villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard, Meursault…), the superb GRP “Au Fil des Vignobles et Vallées” (connected to the GR7, GR76, and GR137) and various marked hiking trails, including the “balades vertes” (a vast network of similar hiking trails crisscrossing the region, suitable for walking or mountain biking), 5.5 km from the Canal du Centre Greenway (a navigable route that can also be explored by Boat or on foot), which runs alongside the EuroVélo6 bike route as well as the “Tour de Bourgogne à Vélo,” 9 km from the “Du Morvan aux Vignobles” Greenway, connected to the “Cycloroute71” (Tour de Saône-et-Loire à vélo), 9 km from “La Voie des Vignes” (a 36-km route through the Vineyards of Burgundy’s grand cru wines, among the world’s finest), 15 km from the “La Voie des Étangs” bike route and 23 km from the renowned GTM (Grande Traversée du Massif Sud Bourgogne) mountain bike trail. A prime location in the heart of the Chalonnais region, on the border of the Côte d’Or and the Pays Beaunois, at the crossroads of the Autunois and the Morvan. 5.5 km from Saint-Léger-sur-Dheune (Marina), 6 km from the “Seven Menhirs of Epoigny” (one of Burgundy’s most important megalithic sites), 18 km from Le Creusot (home to the renowned Les Combes amusement park / Le Creusot TGV station 17 km away), 11 km from the spa town of Santenay, 12 km from the medieval village of Nolay (with a lake on site), 15 km from Chagny (renowned for its Sunday morning gourmet Market), 22 km from the wine-growing and medieval village of Givry, 28 km from Autun (designated a “City of Art and History”), 28 km from Chalon-sur-Saône (designated a “City of Art and History”), 28 km from Beaune, 36 km from the starting point of the “Vélorail du Morvan” (a 22-km unusual ride through the heart of nature), and 52 km from the famous Gallo-Roman archaeological site of Bibracte, designated a “Grand Site de France.” A refreshing “getaway” — featuring an exceptional garden — nestled just a stone’s throw from amenities, the great outdoors, and “great history”!

Béatrice & Michaël welcome you to an authentic, fully restored traditional farmhouse dating from the 18th century, nestled quietly along a narrow lane in a peaceful, typical, and perfectly preserved residential hamlet, just a stone’s throw from the renowned Château de Couches—a sumptuous 13th-century structure “said” to have belonged to Marguerite of Burgundy, Queen of France (a former medieval fortress of the Duchy of Burgundy listed as a French Historic Monument). Complete tranquility, nestled in a soothing wooded valley where a small, fish-filled river flows, on the edge of a small forest beneath bucolic Vineyard-covered hills dotted with fields and meadows. In the heart of a preserved, gentle wine-growing countryside (protected as a ZNIEFF and various “Natura 2000” zones for its rich flora and fauna), a sublime, rolling landscape featuring a succession of undulating hills carpeted with vineyards, wooded meadows, and beautiful wild forests. The surrounding setting is truly beautiful. Very close to the heart of Couches, a picturesque medieval wine-growing village brimming with charm and designated a “Station Verte de Vacances,” situated along the route of the ancient Roman road “Agrippa,” boasting exceptional heritage and numerous amenities. A comfortable holiday cottage. A warm, rustic charm with contemporary touches that harmonize with the utterly exotic spirit of an old rural home with “old-world charm.” A calm and peaceful atmosphere. A lovely, sheltered balcony-terrace overlooking a superb 2,000 m² “park,” carefully landscaped with lawns, plants, flowers, and trees—a perfect, safe “playground” for kids, flanked by two gravel terraces (one of which borders a small pond home to goldfish, frogs, and salamanders), a ping-pong table, and an unusual stone “agora” nestled in the “undergrowth” (resembling a “Celtic altar”) that is naturally shaded—perfect for enjoying the cool air or taking a rejuvenating nap in the summer!
Layout: Semi-detached house adjacent to the owner’s home (complete privacy). Electric heating. Wi-Fi. Access to the holiday cottage (located on the 1st floor) via an outdoor staircase leading up one flight. 1st floor: kitchen-living room, 2 bedrooms (1 double bed 160x200 cm / 2 single beds 80x200 cm that can be joined to form a double bed 160x200 cm), bathroom (shower), separate toilet, laundry room. Balcony + covered balcony-terrace + double gravel terrace + garden (2,000 m²) + private parking. Small shops and Restaurants 2 km away. Small supermarket 1.5 km away.
