Martine is a retired decorative painter (restorer of old paintings, statues...) with a passion for her work (you can visit her studio on site). She welcomes you to an authentic, lovingly restored 19th-century winegrower's house nestled opposite the magnificent Mercurey vineyards (leader of the Côte Chalonnaise crus, one of the oldest AOCs in France), with the splendid Romanesque church of Touches in the background. Peace & quiet on the edge of a charming lane & small square with a historic washhouse, in the heart of a delightful hamlet overlooking the center of the village (just a stone's throw away). Steeped in history and nestled along the ancient Roman road "Via Agrippa", this famous, picturesque wine-growing village boasts numerous amenities (shops & services), a rich heritage (two Romanesque churches dating from the 12th & 13th centuries, mills, cadoles, typical bourgeois homes, chapels, castles, including the remains of a medieval fortified castle dating from the 10th century...) and enjoys a literally sumptuous hilly landscape, alternating vineyard slopes, wooded hills & vast state forests (to be discovered on foot or by bike via the many nature trails in the surrounding area). Comfortable gîte. Warm, cozy, country-style ambience blends with an exotic, vintage feel. You benefit from a pleasant private terrace overlooking the vineyard, doubled by a second spacious terrace, intimate & flowery, nestled out of sight in a charming enclosed courtyard (with an outdoor lounge).
Composition: Semi-detached village house comprising 1 gîte + owner's accommodation (total independence). Wifi access. Free laundry service. Gas central heating. Ground floor: kitchen-living room, living room (sofa bed 2 p. 160x200cm), 1 bedroom (bed 2 p. 160x200cm), bathroom (bath/wc). Private terrace. Private courtyard terrace. Bike room. Easy on-site public parking. Local shops.
