Catherine and Gilles welcome you to their 1815 farmhouse, located on the GR559, La Truite Vagabonde and L'Echappée Jurassienne trails, a 30-minute walk from Cascades du Hérisson and close to Lake Bonlieu, Le Pic de L'Aigle, des 4 Lacs and its belvederes, Lake de Clairvaux, Lake de Chalain, Lac de L'Abbaye, Les Gorges de La Langouette, La Source de La Saine, Lac de Vouglans, Baume Les Messieurs, etc...
This farmhouse has a long history, spanning different eras and owners. Originally a traditional farm, the entrance to the barn and stable with their arched porches and stone hinges remain. One of the key figures was Mademoiselle Hélène Girardin, a former schoolteacher who, after the war, took in a flock of Kids in search of fresh air. She lived to 99 and is buried at Bonlieu. Then there was the former owner, who set up the bed and breakfast, and finally us, who continued the business for 14 years. When we retired, we transformed them into large Holiday cottages. The vocation of this building seems to be to welcome and accommodate holidaymakers.
This 180M2 former farmhouse has: 5 bedrooms with private shower rooms and toilets, including 3 for couples and 2 with 4 single beds each,
a fully-equipped kitchen, a laundry room, 3 small lounges for reading, games, TV and overhead projector, a large terrace with summer kitchen, closed garage for bicycles, carport.
This large Holiday cottage has a maximum capacity of 14 people, making it ideal for family gatherings, friends, hikers, mountain bikers and cyclists.
In low season, we can also accommodate small groups, bed and breakfasts for couples or itinerant hikers.
