Description 2026, subject to modifications for 2027: Please refer to the description sheet validated at the time of booking.
Unusual and original would be the key words to describe L'Orée du Paradis, located in the Pierres Dorées region of Beaujolais.
Nicole and Georges, the owners, didn't go for the usual luxury of the hotel business.
With the help of their architect, they chose to express their personalities in the choice of shapes and decor.
So, for example, you can bask in the warmth of the indoor swimming pool nestled in the heart of the house, or enjoy the vast flower-filled garden.
Statues and paintings by Georges brighten up the various rooms in the house.
On the ground floor, the "La Crèche" room (4 épis) has its own private terrace, a king-size bed (160 cm), a flat-screen TV and its own bathroom with toilet.
Upstairs, the "Fenil" room (3 épis) is equipped with a 2-person bed (160 cm), with the possibility of adding a 1-person bed on request, a flat-screen TV, a small kitchenette, and a small bathroom with its own toilet. Guests can also use the large shower and WC on the first floor (bathrobes provided).
The heated indoor swimming pool with whirlpool is open from mid-April to the end of October.
This beautiful space features a piano (tuned for musicians), numerous green plants and sculptures created by Georges Guillard, your host.
He has lots of stories to tell, knows the region inside out and, together with his wife Nicole, will give you the warmest of welcomes.
Table d'hôtes available on reservation. Price of meal: 27€; Price of meal for Kids under 12: 16€.
The garden, terrace and small Thai-inspired garden shed are all great places to relax around the house.
Rooms
Room: La Crèche
The "La Crèche" room occupies the former location of our building's cowshed. Our farming ancestors used to keep their animals in places that benefited from the best energy sources. The bedroom also benefits from light from the large north-facing bay window. The south-facing French window opens onto a small private terrace where breakfast can be served on sunny mornings. Deckchairs are available to extend these moments of relaxation. A bright, sculpted panel separates the bedroom from its bathroom. The washbasin is made of golden stone carved by Georges. The floor, including the shower, is made of pebbles and fossils. In keeping with the spirit of the place, Georges even carved the wood bed in the shape of an ox yoke. The red and beige of the walls bring a touch of modernity and cheerfulness to this once very rustic space. Bed 1.60 x 2.00, 2 armchairs and coffee table. Wall cupboard (bathrobes). Small office area. Parquet flooring in bedroom.

The hayloft, as its name suggests, was the place where hay was kept in this large wine-growing and agricultural farmhouse, which we have restored by combining contemporary style with golden stones. The room has been fitted out like a small studio, with its own small shower room, kitchen/dining area (fridge, 2 hotplates, single sink), and, of course, the main resting area. A large ceiling-to-floor bay window overlooks the northern courtyard, while a smaller window looks out over the flower-filled garden to the south. A garnet-red tone on some of the walls lends a warm atmosphere and creates a balance with the exposed stone of the neighboring wall. Sleeps 1.60, TV. Access to an additional shower room on the first floor. Bathrobes.
