Book your stay today in this detached house, right next to the Via Rhôna, and let yourself be carried away by the gentleness of this exceptional stopover: Welcome to La Decize, an invitation to travel between the Rhône and the Massif du Pilat, ideal for exploring an area rich in heritage and beauty. A former bargemen's house, this place steeped in history welcomes you to an exceptional natural setting, where water and hills meet.
The name "La Decize" echoes the traditional boats that sailed down the Rhône to Lyon in ancient times.
Everything has been thought of to ensure your comfort, from the warm, refined interior to the landscaped garden.
First floor: spacious, bright living room (sofa bed only to separate sleeping arrangements), fully-equipped kitchen/living room, laundry room.
Upstairs: large air-conditioned bedroom with queen-size bed and en-suite shower room, separate toilet.
Outside: enclosed garden (furniture and deckchairs) with breathtaking views of the Rhône and Pilat mountains.

During your stay, La Decize becomes the starting point for your own journey.
Nearby, discover Vienne, its ancient remains, its Roman Theater and the Saint-Romain-en-Gal Museum, a major witness to Gallo-Roman civilization. The surrounding terroir is also a veritable treasure trove: savor the rigotte de Condrieu, a local cheese, and be seduced by the Rhône Valley's exceptional wines, notably Condrieu and Côte-Rôtie. This gourmet getaway is rounded off by the region's many restaurants. Take the Via Rhôna, which passes within walking distance of the house, explore the Parc Naturel Régional du Pilat, with its forests, ridges and breathtaking panoramas, or enjoy the Jazz à Vienne Festival, a not-to-be-missed event every summer. Lyon: 40 min, Saint Clair les Roches train station: 4 min by car, 18 min on foot.

W Hudson Superb, Everything Was Wonderful!
My Wife and I had a lovely time in this beautiful gite in a stunning location overlooking the Rhone. Our hosts Benedicte and Bernard were fabulous making us feel extremelely welcome and they were especially helpful in a providing information and suggestions for acticities in the local area. The property was in a wonderful condition and according to my Wife the kitchen was the best equipped she had seen in any holiday cottage. There is also a nice terrace for relaxing on deckcahirs with superb views of the river. We would both love to return to this gite in the future. Merci Beaucoup Benedicte & Bernard!

Mariola et William ont été des hôtes particulièrement curieux et avides de découvertes. De la détente, certes un peu dans notre petit jardin au bord du Rhône, mais aussi et surtout un programme de visites bien rempli pour ces passionnés d'Histoire, grands gourmets et infatigables voyageurs. La Decize fût pour eux le camp de base idéal !
Nous avons heureusement pu trouver le temps d'échanger avec eux de façon fort agréable .

Nous sommes ravis que La Decize vous ait plu à ce point. Il est vrai que nous avons quand même quelques petits points forts liés à notre emplacement (exceptionnel bien sûr ! ?).
Le charme agit ainsi bien souvent, et ce fut aussi le cas pour nous, très spontanément.
Accueillir "physiquement" a du sens. Nous aimons les échanges que cela engendre et les souvenirs que cela procure. Dans un monde où tout va très vite, prendre le temps de partager est essentiel, et quoi de mieux que les vacances pour cela ?

Myriam et Roland ont été des invités charmants, discrets et respectueux et qui ont pris beaucoup de plaisir a séjourner chez nous. Leur retour d'expérience nous enchante car nous tenons de tout coeur a rendre un séjour a "La Decize" inoubliable.Merci a eux pour leur gentillesse et leur implication.La maison était impeccable.

Excellent accueil. Gîte très confortable et très, très bien organisé. Calme parfait.
Il est très difficile d'y trouver un défaut.
Le coin est parfait pour randonner et visiter des caves, que ce soit pour du Condrieu ou du Côte Rôtie.

Didier fût un hôte agréable et discret que nous serons effectivement heureux d'accueillir a nouveau pour un séjour "approfondissement" de la découverte de nos vignobles et randonnées.

I spend a lovely holiday at La Décize.
Bénédicte is a wonderful host who is ready to give you advice on things to do, things to taste (and there are some great wine recommendations in the area), ...
The gîte itself was absolutely stunning. Everything you could imagine you might need was there.
But the real star of the holiday was the view. Waking up with a view of the Rhône river, the vineyards in the distance was just breathtaking.
