Want to unwind for a weekend or enjoy a nature getaway? Welcome to the “La Chèvre et le Paysan” holiday cottage, an authentic retreat on the slopes of Mont Soubran in the Haut Beaujolais region.
Here, you’ll be staying on a real farm, in a preserved natural setting where forests and meadows blend together. The tranquility, the scenery, and farm life offer a complete change of pace.
As goat farmers and goat cheese producers, we offer you a simple, friendly, and warm welcome. On-site, you can meet the farm animals—including the donkeys Oscar and Idylle—and sample our farm-fresh cheeses, which are available for purchase.
An ideal spot for nature lovers, with numerous hiking trails starting right from the farm, allowing you to explore the landscapes of the Beaujolais region. Located near the GR76 trail, the holiday cottage warmly welcomes hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders for a break in the heart of nature.
The holiday cottage is spread over two levels and has no internal connection between the floors. On the ground floor: a cozy living area with a fully equipped kitchen and a relaxation corner, plus a terrace under a pergola where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the scenery (outdoor furniture, lounge chairs, and a barbecue).
Upstairs (exterior access): a dormitory sleeping 8 (including 4 bunk beds) with shared bathrooms (2 sinks, 2 showers, and 2 toilets). One bedroom that sleeps 4 and one that sleeps 3—each with its own bathroom and toilet.
The holiday cottage can accommodate groups, hikers, or families for one night, a weekend, or a longer stay.
Upon request, we can provide breakfast (€8).
It is possible to reserve the entire holiday cottage for a group. An additional reception room can also be made available for seminars, workshops, or artist residencies (for an additional fee: €100/day).
Out of respect for the neighbors and the peace and quiet of the farm, nighttime parties are not permitted (outdoor noise is tolerated until 11:00 PM).

Nichée sur les pentes du Mont Soubran, au cœur des Monts du Beaujolais, la chèvrerie de la Grandouze bénéficie d'un environnement naturel préservé, où forêts, prairies et haies bocagères se côtoient, offrant à nos chèvres et autres animaux un espace idéal à leur élevage.
C'est dans ce milieu verdoyant que depuis 1982 nous exploitons 30 ha d'herbes, consacrées à l'alimentation de nos animaux, une moitié pour le pâturage et l'autre moitié pour la récolte du foin.
Notre passion, nos 130 chèvres de race alpine chamoisée, que nous choyons tout au long de l'année, qui nous permettent de produire de délicieux fromages.
En plus de cette activité agricole, depuis 2012, nous accueillons des groupes scolaires et particuliers sur la ferme afin de faire découvrir le métier de paysan et de sensibiliser sur des pratiques agricoles respectueuses de l'environnement. Et depuis cette année la ferme se diversifie encore et propose un gîte de groupe permettant d'accueillir jusqu'à 15 personnes.
