Come and enjoy a moment out of time at the pretty Château de Chambost, located in the heart of the Countryside, on the edge of the Loire department and just 1 hour from Lyon.
Numerous Hiking trails nearby.
This charming 17th-century family home, with its painted ceilings, parquet floors (checkerboard, diamond pattern, marquetry) and stylish furniture, will appeal to lovers of character properties.
Each of the bedrooms on the first floor of the house has its own unique, carefully-crafted decor.
The first bedroom, "Les Perroquets", has a double bed (140cm x 190cm), a bathroom and separate toilet, the second bedroom, "Bonne Maman", has a double bed (160cm x 200cm), a bathroom with bath and toilet, the small family suite (completely renovated in 2025) has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed (160cm x 200cm) and the other with a single bed (90cm), a bathroom and toilet, and the last bedroom, "Vivien", has 2 beds (110cm x 200cm) side by side, a bathroom and toilet.
Up the stairs you'll find a sitting area with a table for working, playing or simply admiring the magnificent painted ceiling.
You can also take advantage of the vestibule, which has been converted into a cosy reading room (the 1850 wallpaper is an imitation of Cordoba leather), with numerous books and board games available for guests.
A rich breakfast is served, including homemade pastries, a trilogy of homemade jams, yoghurt from the farm, homemade musli, pastries, fresh fruit and nuts from the garden, accompanied by tea, coffee and homemade fruit juices.
Table d'hôtes available on reservation with the owners. Simple home cooking based on local produce, most of it organically grown on neighboring farms. Dinner is served in a 17th-century vaulted room.

It is furnished with a 160 cm double bed and empire-style furniture in burr lemon wood. It has a bathroom with an old enameled cast-iron bathtub, tiled floor and a window overlooking the Château's courtyard. Its two windows open onto the park, and you can enjoy the view over the peaceful village of Chambost-Longessaigne. The curtains are made of silk taffeta, woven at the Tassinari factory in Panissières.
