Le Prieuré de Montverdun

With its 360° panoramic view of the morning and evening mountains, this restored Casadean Priory, listed as a Historic Monument, offers you the serenity of its basalt walls, its 12th and 15th century church and its gîte, for a timeless stay or stopover in the heart of the Pays de l'Astrée.

Sheltered by its volcanic stone ramparts, a 500 m2 enclosed courtyard lies between the church and the gîte. Outside, two parking lots, the covered walkway, a garden and the start of the Cléontine trail to the Renaissance Château de la Bastie d'Urfé (1/2 h walk). On the horizon: vineyards (with their cellars and "Côtes du Forez" wines), ponds and numerous sites to discover (La Volerie de Marcilly le Châtel, Château de Goutelas in Marcoux, Musée de la Vigne in Boën, Réserve de Biterne in Arthun, l'Ecopole du Forez....).

A 305 m2 group gîte (ground floor and first floor), Le Prieuré features a reception room for 60/70 people (weddings, family or business reunions, seminars, conferences, training courses), a fully-equipped kitchen, two dormitories (one with 19 beds, the other with 6), three showers, three WCs, eight washbasins, a modern, comfortable bedroom (4 pers.) with private bathroom and a cellar (barrel-vaulted cellar with three 13th-century pillars, ideal for cocktails, aperitifs and a dance hall).
