La Loge aux Hirondelles

La loge aux hirondelles is a guest house created by renovating an outbuilding of an old Forézienne farmhouse in keeping with the original architecture. The barn has been converted into a family room, and the swallows nest a little further away under the balcony adjoining the bedroom upstairs. Committed to quality of life and human values, you'll receive a warm and friendly welcome from Sylvie and Hervé!

In the heart of the Forez region, on the GR 89 Montaigne route and not far from the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela (transport can be arranged to the accommodation), in a peaceful setting and beautiful wooded rolling countryside, this former farmhouse has 2 large bedrooms, one of which is a family room accessible to people with reduced mobility, all comfortable and furnished with care. Your hosts, enthusiasts of all kinds, cultivate good living and gourmet pleasures: Sylvie will be delighted to prepare tasty local dishes for you, using local and homemade products (natural garden vegetables, eggs from the henhouse, cakes, homemade jams, etc.) and served at the family table (table d'hôtes by reservation). Hervé, a history and heritage enthusiast, will reveal the charms of the Pays d'Astrée region, a veritable haven of peace, surrounded by preserved nature and heritage.

These 2 personalized rooms (la Mazotte for families and l'Estive for couples), located in the outbuilding, each have a separate entrance, full bathroom facilities and a private terrace for relaxing. Access for people with reduced mobility is assured (ramp and adapted interior fittings). The courtyard and terrace were completely renovated in the summer of 2021 (interlocking paving stones, tiling, flower beds and shrubs). In the spacious rooms, everything is provided: bed linen and towels, bath and shower towels, liquid soap and shampoo, hairdryer ..... Reduced rates for stays of 3 nights or more, to be arranged with the owners. WI FI is available (access code on site). Since 2023, a self-service room has been available where you can put a few groceries in the mini-fridge, ice packs in the freezer, heat up something in the mini-oven or on the gas stove, have a cup of coffee or tea .......
