La vieille cure

La Vieille Cure is a former presbytery built in 1690 with the adjoining church for the parishes of Lieudieu and Semons. Restored for the first time in 1750, in 1890 the commune declared the building dilapidated, and the church, which had become too small for two villages, was dismantled and rebuilt using the same materials on its current site in the village of Semons. In our garden, the 1850 Jubilee cross, restored by us, bears witness to this period. At the end of the 19th century, the typically regional construction of rolled pebbles and adobe was restored, and the main house and outbuildings became the town hall and school. The fountain in the middle of the cobbled courtyard was a public focal point for the village. The property was sold as a farm in the 20th century, at the beginning of 1900. We acquired the property in 1986 and restored it using period materials, preserving the original facades and openings. The gîte was created in 1988 in the former cowshed and fitted out in a cosy country style.

In a restored Old Presbytery, the gîte, classified as a Holiday cottage, is ideal for 5 occupants, but we can accommodate up to 6 people (€20/night/additional person). The property has a pretty cobbled courtyard with a fountain, and the Holiday cottage is a haven of peace with independent access. At an altitude of 500m. breathtaking views of the Vercors and Chartreuse mountains. Ground floor: laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge-freezer, separate WC, large living room (wood-burning stove), TV, fully renovated fitted kitchen with traditional oven, microwave, dishwasher. Dining area. Upstairs, bedroom 1 with double bed (160 x 200) and private bathroom with bath and WC. Air-conditioned bedroom 2 with 2-person bed (160x200), 1 Chartreux 1-person bed and 1 mezzanine 1-person bed. Large bathroom with shower, separate WC. Books and games available. Large garden with trees, barbecue, pétanque court, access to the owners' Piscine. For your approval, heated Piscine from mid-June to mid-September, please bring your own pool towels. For weekly stays, departure cleaning charge €90, tourist tax to be paid on site.
