Between Annecy and Aix les Bains, in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional du Massif des Bauges, Holiday cottage (86m²) in an old farmhouse.
Garden level: kitchen, living/dining room with TV and DVD player, wood-burning stove (firewood provided free of charge), unobstructed view of the Semnoz, Countryside and Bauges mountains.
1st floor: bedroom 1 (1 bed 160X200), bedroom 2 (1 bed 140), bedroom 3 (2 bunk beds 90cm). Shower room, separate toilet. Mosquito screens on all openings.
Covered terrace, grounds, garden furniture, barbecue/plancha, Kids' play area. Linen supplied. Covered carport for parking.
Medieval village of Alby sur Chéran 3km away. Ski: Semnoz 20km or Aillon/Margériaz 30km. Swimming at Rumilly 9km. Annecy 15km, Geneva 55km, Aix les Bains 21km.

Nous avons passés un très agréable séjour dans ce gîte, l'accueil et le relationnel avec les propriétaires étaient très agréables. Ne ne manquions de rien. Nous espérons pouvoir revenir, le retour à la vie ordinaire fut très dur.

Laurence Le Replat so relaxing
Josette and Gerard were very friendly, attentive, helpful and welcoming - just be aware that they do not speak English. Emails answered very promptly. The location in this very genuine village is delightful and peaceful. The situation is lovelier than the pictures suggest, across the valley from Mont Semnoz (fab driving up the summit for walks with magnificent views over to Mont Blanc). Lots of wonderful places are within reach including stations eg to Lyon. The chickens are fun and love scraps! We would have liked a very lightweight duvet for summer (it was hot in July, up to 33C; use the shutters). Being near farms there were quite a few inquisitive flies but they provided appropriate stuff to help with this and it wasn’t actually a problem. Sitting in the evening in the shelter was marvellous, the setting Sun illuminating the mountain and dozens of kites flying past to roost. There is only one toilet which would be a problem with six people. We would go there again and have fond memories of the swifts and house martins swooping around the village. Wherever we went the French were universally delightful.

Hello Laurence; we're sorry for your disappointment, but it's clearly stated on the Gites de France website that we only speak French; this might be something to check when booking in France in the future. To address this shortcoming, we set up email communication, which seems to have worked well.
