19th-century farmhouse, detached house with breathtaking views of the Allier Gorge, close to the abbey and 12th-century cloister. The gîte is located at "la Vialle", a rocky promontory overlooking two rivers, the Allier on one side and the Desges on the other. It's a "cul-de-sac", so there are very few cars on the road, apart from those of the few locals. La Vialle was built on an ancient volcanic flow, and it's easy to see the basaltic flows, also known as organs, along the lanes that run beneath the Abbey. The many lanes and footpaths directly accessible from the gîte will delight walkers, the Allier and Desges rivers and the two ponds within walking distance in less than 10 minutes will satisfy fishermen, and during the summer months, the beach at the gravel pit (unsupervised) will enable you to swim in the white waters of the Allier. This part of the Haute-Loire has many treasures to discover: the Allier gorges, Lavoute-Chilhac, Lavaudieu, the Notre Dame des Chazes chapel, Prades, the Chapelle d'Estour and the Seuges gorges, Saugues and the Margeride, and of course the magnificent town of Le Puy en Velay (40mn by car), Blesle (listed as one of France's most beautiful villages)... Nearby: Chanteuges abbey on site, wild salmon conservatory 1 km away, Allier gorges 1 km away, Langeac (Musée du Jacquemart, Saint-Gal festival, adventure trail...) 5.5 km away. All shops and services in Langeac (5.5 km). Shops in Chanteuges: bakery, inn, café.

Terrace (7 m²) and enclosed courtyard (30 m²), large enclosed grounds (1200 m²) with outdoor games: swing, sandpit, slide and tree house.
